Skip him.

10-12 mill is about what he's worth. I personally think that 5 years, 60 million should be what he gets. Something around there.

It's still too early.. gosh can't people wait?

10-12 mil is about what is appropriate. I still think Lakers should wait too see how much he's really worth towards other teams. Like what Jermaine said.. be patient lol. That way, Lakers can really see how well he can adapt and play.. then give him what he's due for.

he can not legally make that much a year until the 5th or sixth year of a max contract for a player with so little time in the NBA.

hell, the max contract for players with 4 years of experience starts at 14 mil a year.

Dwight Howard is making 14 mil. in 2009.

Bynum must be crazy if he think he is worth 17 mil per year.

Can't he make the same as CP3? They're drafted the same year
This is what CP3 is set to make
2009-10: $13,758,000
2010-11: $15,202,590
2011-12: $16,647,180
2012-13: $18,091,770

So conceivably, if it is a longer contract, he could end up averaging 17 mill per season.

It'll be staggered, with the last year possibly paying out at/near $17million.

That being said, there is no way the Lakers should give him that kind of contract at this time.

Let alone doubts about the injury and his health, he has done nothing on the court to warrant a max deal. Not yet.

i love bynum's comments. he's always maintained that his play on the court will dictate everything.

Implications of Bynum's extension

Post#78 » by Kreuk » Tue Oct 21, 2008 10:02 pm

In your opinion, will Bynum's contract (whether it's 12 million or 17 million a season) have a negative impact on future Laker contract extensions? For example, Kobe can opt out and re-sign. Will he do so if Bynum gets a max deal? How will LO, a veteran take it? What will Gasol think when he's not making as much as Bynum and Bynum isn't even an All Star...

Unfortuantly when a fan base and national media builds up a player to ultra huge expectations and loves him way too much for what hes proven, a player and agent are bound to think hes worth much more than he is. Happens all the time in the NBA.

fan base and national media? i think the lakers refusing to trade him while actively shopping kobe has a lot more to do with it.
