Celtics @ Lakers — Dec 25

Post#1 » by stan francisco » Mon Dec 25, 2023 4:11 am

The Keltics… :meditate:

Since the merger in 1976, we have 11 rings, they have 5 so it’s not that much of a rivalry based on the numbers. But since their fans like to include the pre-Jurassic record and claim false equivalency; let’s crush them. It’s more than just one game out of 82.

Ham, get ready for mismatches. Their coach adjusts well during games. Be ready to counter punch in the second half, especially in the fourth.

The starting lineup against OKC was much better. I would want to see one of Reddish and Vando on the court at all times, but not both at the same time.

Go Lakers!

I wouldn’t bet against us in any big game. The In Season Tourney proved that these guys can get up for it when it matters. Now when we’ve had a good starting defense for all of one game, all old bets are off for me.

I think we win today.

AD needs to attack Porzingis, LBJ needs to attack Jason PoTatum, make them play defense and foul. Reddish and Vando need to make life hell for Brown. Reaves needs to make Holiday work. Prince, knock down open shots.

Swing the ball around, make them chase! Come fourth quarter they otherwise have an extra gear.

Control the defensive glass, dictate tempo.

This will come down to defense by Reddish, Vando, and Prince.
We have to control one or two of Tatum, Brown, Jrue, or White.
AD needs to also be super aggressive on the defensive end and protect the paint when their guards and wings drive.

Playoff intensity!

I predict we win.

Let’s go Lakers!!!

No effing way. :D

I agree that the Keltics are the NBA team to beat this season since adding Holiday and Porzingis.

Certainly, the LA fans will make our guys play tough defense against the ugly green and black. I can hear it already, “DE-FENSE!!!”. LeBron has a good record on nationally televised games. So does AD who seems fully healthy for once. Unjinx. We can count on LBJ seeing today’s matchup as a must win; a statement game. And he’d better.

WWKobeDo? Lakers fans expect that from him against the green and LBJ knows it.

I’d say we’re able to match them with on-court talent today but I’m not sure our coach won’t get out-coached. He’ll be forced to be reactive with strategy, something he is usually unable to do.

Besides coaching, we should be able to match them in all other areas. I predict a 12 point win.

I honestly don’t remember the last time the Lakers didn’t suck on a Christmas game.

There’s a lot of time left.

Darvin, get a clue. You can’t play Vando and Reddish together. Both have the same strengths and weaknesses, similar size. Tag team them instead!

Half time 58-57.

Ham, please adjust in half time based on today’s form.

Start and finish with James, Reaves, Vando, Rui, AD on the floor.

I’m at the game.
Crypto is rocking.

Lakers looked terrible in the first quarter but showed up with the D and offensive rebounding in the second Q.

The refs are stinking it up but we got momentum now.

Keep up the great D to start the 2nd half and we’ll take control.

You’d better start a chant for some defense. :D

Ham! Are you watching the game? Awake? What’s up with our second unit’s defense. Bench the weak defenders.

And coaching

Yeah so Ham only used D-Lo for just 18 minutes even though he shot well and had 5 assists and 1 turnover so he can prioritize defense and they still allow 126 points, 50% FG, so is it coaching or players not executing?

In looking at the C's last few games 126 isn't bad actually. They are rolling and we're a team with a few holes.
