Raptors @ Lakers - Tonight

I think this is a must win game. We cannot drop a home game to the Raptors with Phoenix next up on the schedule.

So far, the poor perimeter defense and lack of ball movement on offense prevails. Same as last year. Same as all season. Why double team in the lane when they have no bigs. Their three point shooters are open as with every opponent. Our players seem stunned by the zone again.

We should be up by 20 against this team.

Ouch! Quickly with an elbow to the jaw of Reddish.

Hopefully it will be a flagrant but I doubt it

We've given up 125 points to this team at home.
Our defense has been awful tonight.

It feels like we find something every game to suck at.
Sometimes it's peripheral D.
Sometimes, like tonight, it is points given up in the paint, and peripheral D.
Sometimes (often) it's turn overs.

Sometimes it's offensive flow, or lack thereof.

The anti-Laker vitriol on the GB Game Thread tonight is specially funny and pathetic.
Pretty entertaining.

Always makes me appreciate the class that Laker fans have on own forum.

Are they saying we got three favorable calls in the fourth but neglect to admit LBJ got hacked 7 or 8 times in the first half? Old hat. :D

LeBron said it best. They fouled, we didn’t.

Once again, the Lakers did a real good job protecting the paint without fouling. AD is one on the best ever in the game at playing defense without fouling. Should we be punished for having a superstar center? :D They couldn’t guard him without fouling.

When he’s on the attack, he’s gonna live at the line. See Kobe, MJ, Magic, Shaq, Durant, Curry. Superstars make that happen by being smarter, stronger, faster, better, bigger.

The Raptors were undersized so we didn’t have to foul. And that’s why they had to foul us in the paint. Poeltl rode the pine this game. They mostly shot threes. Easy math. Should we give them a handout for being too small and young and weak for the paint? :D

Refs were bad. I saw three harsh calls going our way in the second half, and about eight non calls on our drives in the first half ‘going their way’. LeBron couldn’t buy a foul in the first half even though he got hacked repeatedly. Christie was taken down mid air and got nothing.

Too strong shouldn’t play against a team. Their coach should grow a pair and teach them youngins to grow a few inches and play defense without fouling instead of whining like a b***# about the refs, even if they sucked.

$75k fine?

Completely agree.
TOR plays very aggressive ball. I kind of like that . They have young guys who play hard. On both offense and defense, they take it to the opponent.
That will draw lots of fouls.
The Lakers don’t play that brand of ball. They should do it more but they just don’t have the personnel for it .
There were calls that went the way of the Lakers that could have gone the other way.

That’s the game. To say that there is some conspiracy to give the Lakers more free throws is just asinine.

LBJ gets hit at least half the time when he drives to the basket. Not all of those are called.

The GB uses this to perpetuate their Laker hatred.
That’s fine. They’re the ones that have to live with it. That’s our society these days.

As far as the TOR coach, I’d imagine that the league would have very little tolerance towards a rant like that. The league has done a lot to get over the perceptions created by the prior reffing scandals.

Maybe they’ll have some mercy on this guy but my sense is that it’ll be $50k or $75k, if not more.
