Laker comparisons

Post#1 » by El Hardee » Sat Jan 5, 2008 4:54 pm

Watching the talent come together on this team makes me think of players of old. Who past or present do the guys remind you of. Not saying our guys are on the level yet but comparing playing style.

Kobe-MJ (duh)
Bynum-A cross between Rik Smits and Shaq
Odom-Tom Chambers
Farmar-Joe Dumars
Critt-Isaiah Thomas
Ronny- Brian Grant

Kobe - MJ , cool

Bynum is probably a little closer to Shaq than Smits

Odom WISHES he was Tom Chambers. Chambers was one of the most consistent, productive forwards of his time. Odom is more like a more talented Tim Thomas, with less 3pt shooting

Farmar-Joe Dumars? I don't really see it. Maybe more Norm Nixonish.

Critt- Isiah? Again, don't see it. I'll give him more of a (right now) very poor man's Dwyane Wade

Turiaf reminds me a lot of Brian Grant from back in his Portland days. And it's not just the hair.

Critt is a little funny. He is pretty unconparable. He has the height and athletism of a steve francis but he plays good d and is probably stronger mentally and not just a street baller and francis really is a street baller so you can't compare them. He is hard to compare.

All the others are jokes besides Kobe. Bynum could be considered a poor mans kareem now but bigger but soon he won't be anybody's poor man.

Ronny is no Grant.

Farmar- Dumars? Funny. If we had all these guys great like that we would be better then the Celtics.

imagine Shaq,Dumars,MJ,Wade,Grant all on one team. That's not us.
