Lakers just announced Artest hurt last night at home when he tripped over box and fell down flight of stairs, injuring head and left elbow

Lakers Forward Ron Artest was injured last night at his home when he tripped over a box and fell down a flight of stairs, suffering an injury to his head and left elbow.

Artest received treatment at the emergency room at UCLA Medical Center, where he was released after undergoing a series of tests, including a CT scan. He received stitches to the back of his head and to his elbow.

Artest did not accompany the team to Sacramento this morning and is not expected to play in tonight’s game against the Kings. Artest will be examined today in Los Angeles by a neurologist and after that examination, an update will be given with an estimate as to when Artest will be able to rejoin the team.

WIth him injured (hopefully not for long), Shannon Brown will have to play MAJOR minutes at SG and Kobe will have to guard the team's most potent wing player -- Tyreke Evans.

Kobe I don't worry about, but having to depend on Shannon Brown to play 30 plus minutes will be interesting to say the least.

Lakers play 4 games in 5 days. Its never a time for injuries to happen off the court. Artests 1st bad stunt in LA at a very bad time.

Why does him being a former King have ANY relevance to why he doesn't want to play there?

That's arguably the worst explanation/reason I've heard, there's no logic, like where did you pull that out from?

From that report that came out a couple weeks ago where they quoted Ron Ron saying that he used to drink Henney at halftime we all know that he likes his Henney. After a blowout like the one we just took, maybe Ron had a couple too many??
