OT:Ben Fanelli in ICU after OHL Hockey Hit

I was going to make it in the NHL Section, but its abandoned pretty much.

The kid who got his was 16 years old, playing his first season in the OHL, and the person who hit him was 22 years old in his final year in the OHL. He received a full season + playoff suspension, effectively ending his hockey career.

The kid is in the intensive care unit with a fractured skull, hes in stable but critical condition.

Thoughts?

It wasn't like it was a dirty hit or anything. Just finishing his check a bit too late. He hit him shoulder to shoulder and his head ricocheted off the glass. I don't think he should've been suspended that long, if at all.

Hope the kid is okay though, cause that was one helluva hit he took.

Clean but hard hit. Fanelli turned wrong and clearly didn't have his helmet on properly. Closeups show it was shoulder to shoulder hard hit.

Tragic, but not dirty. If Fanelli just bounces off the boards and keeps skating, it's not even a whistle.

Looked pretty clean to me. Sorry the kid got hurt. Like someone said it seems his helmet wasn't on properly.

It was a really hard hit but a clean hit. Shouldn't of been a suspension, but I hope the kids going to be okay.
