He's pretty decent on the powerplay and he can move the puck, but he's really not that great at anything else. I'll be suprised if he doesn't start the season in the AHL.

So this, uh, frenzy has been pretty damn tame other than the Minny shocker. What the heck?

Seems like everyone's waiting for Doan.

He was the 6th-7th Dman for the Sabres until they traded him in the 'Nucks/Sabres trade for Cody Hodgson.

Canes going for more depth looks like. 2 yr 2 way Contract with Chris Terry. 23 yr old Forward who led the Charlotte Checkers in pts and assists last season.

Watching a 2011 episode of Mantracker. Shane Doan and his brother Brook on the run in Gold Bridge, BC. Place is beautiful, but the brothers are being put through the ringer trying to get to the finish line. Will be interesting to see if they make it. Only 25 minutes left.

Well, they made it, just barely. The brothers win, but it took everything they had to do it. Brook was about to quit from exhaustion, but Shane pushed him and they just beat Mantracker to the finish.

Wow.

I really dislike Philly, so I'm absolutely praying that this doesn't happen, and Nashville matches!

The Flyers made it so he makes 26 million next year if the Predators matched, between being uber frontloaded and a huge signing bonus :o That also tells me Weber specifically wanted a contract that would maximize his potential of leaving. NSH gets 4 1sts just for not matching + PHI would probably work out a S&T with them if needed similar to the Phil Kessel TOR/BOS offer sheet, so if they were planning to trade him because he wants out it doesn't make a ton of sense to pay the 26 mil and then deal him sometime in the next year for value probably not far above the 4 1sts. I think he goes

I still think Nashville signs but works out a trade with someone, not necessarily Philly.

I really hate these lifetime deals in the NHL. Stupid New York Islanders what have you done? I mean really teams are going to have to break the bank to keep their star players. I think this could kill The NHL in smaller markets. Imagine you spend 2+ years developing your stud prospect only to have to pay overpay just to keep him.

The Oilers have a lot of young talent and I feel like somebody is going to try to poach one of them as a RFA.

Aren't the Predators under the floor right now?

Nashville is $30 million under the cap. They're matching this.

Did you see year 2? He's making $20+ million that is insane. I think they have to think about this the picks there getting back might be better then agreeing to match this deal

I don't see anyway the Preds match this offer. Its pretty clear Weber doesn't want to be there anyomre and I doubt a team on a buget like the Preds can field a competive team with that massive contract on the books. Let him go to Philly and take the picks.

I don't see them matching either.

The deal is, again, silly though. According to Deadspin, Weber would make only a million each of the first four years in actual salary, but 52 million (!!!) in bonuses. These types of contracts are absurd and bad for the NHL as a whole. **** Philly.

The owners are hyprocrites.

That said, the Preds SHOULD match this. because I think they could get more than 4 firsts in the 20s for Weber in a trade even if they do have to wait a year.
