Dominik Hasek Retires

Post#1 » by UN-Owen » Fri Oct 12, 2012 9:56 pm

If Hasek had been born in Canada I don't think there would be a debate about the best goalie ever

6 Vezinas
2 Harts (5 time nominee)
And the highest career save percentage in NHL history (.922)

All while playing the majority of his career on some rather pedestrian Buffalo teams

Not bad for a guy picked #199 overall. His athleticism and flexibility were increible and he was at times as dominating as anyone has ever been. It was a real pleasure to watch him wear the winged wheel

Well its about 10 years late but in his prime he was one of best to play the game and his style of play revolutionized the goalie position in the NHL.
