There are 7 categories for skaters, but only 5 for goalies.
Of these categories, there is only 1 skater category that a person can go backwards in: +/-
With the goalie stats, 3 of the 5 stats can go backwards if your goalie happens to get shelled: L, SV%, and GAA (and even Brodeur and Luongo get shelled from time to time).
My team was geared towards maxing out the skater categories (I'll take my chances with +/-).
As for goaltending, Pittsburgh plays 3 games per week so I'll just be aiming for L, SV%, and GAA and will be (for the most part) punting W's and Shutouts.
I have no idea why some people placed such a premium on goalies, when the stats favour skaters. If it was a roto league it would make sense, but in a H2H I don't understand it. This is not to criticize those who drafted heavy in goal early -- just that the categories didn't seem to justify it.
Just my two cents though. If we had saves as a category I would have taken another starter instead of Brent Johnson.
