ATL - ORL - NOP - CHI

Post#1 » by NotACat » Thu May 9, 2024 3:53 am

ATL
Out: Capella, Murray, AJ Griffin
In: Ingram, Larry Nance, Cole Anthony, ORL 24 second round pick

CHI
Out: Caruso, Vuc, Lonzo
In: CJ Macollum, Capela

NOP
Out: Ingram, McCollum, Nance
In: Murray, Caruso, Vuc

ORL
Out: Cole Anthony, 24 second round pick
In: Lonzo, AJ Griffin

Rationale:
New Orleans wants to shake up their supporting cast around Zion and this accomplished that well. They'll get their C from FA.

Atlanta wanted a wing that can create offensive pressure and fit well next to Trae. They trade Capella to promote Okongwu and build depth.

Minimal impact on the cap, Orlando takes a chance on Lonzo who would be a great fit if healthy. Also pickup a good veteran and a solid wing prospect in AJ Griffin who hasn't gotten many minutes in Atlanta.

Bulls get to dump Lonzo and Vuc to upgrade their offensive backcourt as well as their center position at the cost of Caruso.

I don't think Atlanta would want or take in Cole here, Ingram is going to require a big contract after next season and they already have Bogdan in his role.

Chicago should just sell Caruso for the best pick and stop there. Capela and CJ does nothing for them beside keep them in no man's land. If Capela and CJ can be spun off for value then maybe that could fix the Chicago inclusion here.

Bulls----No

They currently end up with

CJ Dosunmu Carter
Lavine White

Too many players not enough minutes none of them are really potential SFs

also they need to find not 1, maybe not 2 but potentially 3 brand new centers as Drummond is an UFA

I wonder if ATL would swing away for a super high-scoring backcourt...

CHI sends: Lavine + a FRP

ATL sends: Bogdan & Hunter

All 3 big deals come off the books at the same time

Atlanta is going to want more in return. Not sure Nance nor Anthony have the value to bridge the gap between Murray and Ingram and provide incentive for Atlanta moving Griffin and Capela.

The Bulls front office is useless, but if they take on CJ's contract in this trade, it may be up there as the worst move in Bulls recent history....and we've got a few.

White and Ayo are both better options than taking on CJ's contract and age. We've already got Lavine's contract around our necks, don't need another one

Others disagree, but I believe you could just cut out Chicago and Orlando.
