I don't speak for the Rockets obv.... but I'd hit the freakin roof if they gave up on Eason for anything less than a star. If you squint hard enough, he looks like Dennis Rodman out there.

Eason is still in potential mode.
And what is Okongwu in lol

The same. That is why I propose it.
Those saying they would not make the trade are doing so hoping Eason’s potential is realized.
Problem is, he plays the same spot as Smith. And will remain the back up unless the Rockets go small ball.
I just don’t get too hung up on keeping reserves if I think moving them is beneficial.

Eason is absolutely not locked into a backup role behind Jabari Smith. Or if he is, someone should be fired. He can play just about anywhere but point guard.

Backup 3/4 is more valuable than backup C especially to a team whose center is their best player and Tari was a very significantly better contract situation

34? Why on earth would the Hawks trade OO for a 2nd rounder?

With Sarr's shooting, he can play PF while Kong can stay at center

That's just wishcasting. Sarr shot 28% from 3 on a shorter line and 71% from the freethrow line. Right now he is not a threat from 3 at all and he absolutely can't coexist with Okongwu on offense because OO is an extremely low-volume shooter on poor efficiency from 3. You'd be encouraging teams to sag off of both and completely shut down the lane.

I think Atlanta could probably get away with playing them together for 2-3 minutes a half against bench units (probably can't with Capela) so I'd place a higher priority on trading Clint and letting Sarr grow into a starting role while building OO's value (and seeing if maybe his shooting has improved to the point that they can play a little more than a few minutes a game together).

The teams that make the most sense to me are:

1. OKC -- they could use a center and OO lets them play '5-out ish'. They can match value the easiest.
2. NOP -- OO seems like a decent fit for them but it is harder to match value. Closest I could come up with is Nance + Liddell + 21, but that feels a little short.
3. MIL -- Portis + Connaughton + 23 for OO + Griffin? Atlanta could flip Portis or use him as a 4/5 that can share the floor with Sarr.
4. MEM -- probably ways to match value ... Aldama + Williams + Clarke for OO + ???
5. SAS -- I think they can match value?

Trade candidates:

WCJ, Naz Reid

Free Agents:

Jonas V, K Love [Not a starter], Eubanks, Goga

I think something Milwaukee could try to do is trade Lopez for a wing and then sign both Love/Val and give Val a chance to earn minutes big minutes in the Regular Season at a cheap cost.

To Hawks: Towns + Caruso + Minott

To Bulls: Murray + Hunter + Moore Jr

To Wolves: White + Okongwu + Zo Ball (expiring) + #11 (24 Bulls 1st) + 25 Kings 1st (via Hawks)

Okongwu can battle Reid for starting PF/backup big.
Gobert | Reid | Okongwu
Reid | Okongwu
McDaniels | #11 (takes Anderson role)
Edwards | NAW
Conley | White (PGOF, extended on value deal)

Bulls get LaVine his buddy and can let DDR walk.
Vucevic
Hunter or Pat
Pat or Hunter | Craig
LaVine | Ayo
Murray | Carter

Hawks pair Towns with #1 Sarr longterm.
Capela | Sarr (one year of learning from expiring vet)
Towns
JJ
Caruso | BB

Hunter and Moore jr arent adding much if any extra value. Some would say eating hunters contract makes the return even worse

And Bulls moving Ball. “But, but, the insurance.” We all get the insurance. Still value in moving 21M that won’t suit up (yet again). Bulls get a healthy, playable starter in Hunter.

*If Bulls need a little more value, send Moore Jr to Hawks with Bufkin to Bulls.
