Pacers trade J. Tinsley and a 2009 second rounder

TO

Sea for E. Watson and M. Gelabale

Pacers- With Tinsley moving on. The Pacers will get back Watson who has the same contract length as Tinsley. He brings that slashing ability to the Pacers along with solid defense with a pass first shoot second mentality. Watson is a year younger than Tinsley, which is a plus. Gelabale is an add on to make the salary work in the trade along with being an expiring contract. He's also an extra SF for the Pacers if one of the SF goes down with an injury.

Sonics- Tinsley brings the vet experience to the Sonics roster. He's been in the playoffs. Points wise, he improves the Sonics offense from the PG perspective. He brings the Sonics the pass first, shoot second method into the Sonics style a lot better than Watson and Ridnour combined. The second rounder is to satisfy both sides to the deal.

I believe Indy doesn't do this one. Last season it was a gimme, but with O'Brien's new system Tinsley along with Dunleavy have been the most productive this season. Injury withstanding he could yet live up to his potential in Indy

This deal give Indiana no incentive to deal the best play in the deal.
