don't know about that. it doesn't seem that far off. Ja is obviously ranked too high. same with Zion. there's a clear top 3 and next three or four guys. Wembanyama is already tier 1 trade asset (probably would rank 4th or 5th between him and Tatum). SGA is probably a clear top 10 guy now.

TIER 1: Luka, Jokic, Giannis, (Wembanyama).

TIER 2: Tatum, Curry, Embiid, SGA.

TIER 3: 8 to 25 is pretty close. it's mostly the right players, subjectively ranked.

I have SAS trading Wemby for SGA/Tatum and BOS/OKC declining.

you can probably make a decent argument from a basketball perspective, but I have SAS not even considering it from a financial perspective, where as the other two teams would at least consider it.

nothing quite adds value like a generational 1st overall pick. whether or not he pans out doesn't really matter right now. Wemby instantly added $500 million in franchise value. as good as SGA and Tatum are they don't move the needle on franchise value terms. when the Cavs drafted Lebron, Gund sold the team shortly after and it's because the team's value went through the roof. he 20x his investment nominally in 20 years.

so from a team ownership perspective i think it's really hard to argue they wouldn't take the instant added monetary value if they're thinking about selling.

I completely disagree. I don’t think there is a player in the NBA the Spurs would trade Wemby for.

Yeah, Booker is in tier 2 and I don’t think Luka is tier 1 anymore.

I say it would be, as of now-taking all factors into account
Joker
Giannis
Luka
Wemby (yes, over Embiid)
Embiid
Tatum
SGA
Booker
That's the clear top 8 to me

I get the SGA stats are good, but I have a hard time putting him over Mitchell when you compare the resumes.

Nah, that’s right. Star players locked into long term deals (that’s SGA, with 4/148 left, at age 25) have more trade value than star players with shorter deals (that’s Don, 2/68 + a PO he won’t exercise). Mitchell will be 29 when his contract (minus PO) is up and will sign a massive, massive deal or extension.

They make essentially the exact same money the next two years, then there are two years where MItchell will make 20+ mil more, then it gets closer again. Add to that SGA is about two years younger and he’s clearly higher on my list, resume or not. It’s not Shai’s fault last year was his first one on a team trying to compete.

This was made before he made his step forward with Phoenix during all of their injuries let alone his step even further forward in Brooklyn.

Well then this makes sense. I look forward to the updated version for 2024. No worries! All love on REALGM.

It will be sad to see Ja Morant fall on the next version of this list. That guy is crazy good when not making mistakes on IG. Hope he puts that stuff in the past.

Wemby is the highest value asset on the league.

When can we re-vote this thing? Booker is way higher than 11.

Based on what?

Phoenix looks like a train wreck compared to expectations.

Based on the fact that he is a top 10 player. Lol

The top 10 is solid.

Bottom half is terrible
