So what I don’t get here is that this is supposed to be best overall trade value. So two of the biggest factors to that for me would be age of the player/remaining effective years on these giant contracts and impact (ie - how much do they actually do to increase win share) on the teams performance.
So looking at it that way, I look at guys like Steph, Durant and the guys who are very injury prone as having far less value than people have rated them here. Any guy 35+ is looking at an enormous drop off in production and ability to carry a franchise as the key guy within a year or two. Le Bron is an outlier. Most guys lose it at that age no matter how good of shape they are in.
And then you look at individual ability to carry a team to wins I eliminate guys like Booker because they have shown historically they cannot do that without a lot of help.
Now these guys are worth a big package to a team that they make a contender as that last piece for a couple of years and with a supporting cast/second or third star in place already, but not giving up the kind of assets that basically guy your team going forward after that couple of years.
