Much appreciated :)

Boston’s is funny as they have a clear top 6 guys with a bigger drop after that but no one is quite sure who is or isn’t starting. Debate was between White vs Horford and then Holiday started on the bench the last preseason game so that didn’t make it more clear lol.

Plus half the bench is new and it’s not super clear what the pecking order is.

All that said it’s in these tiers:
Holiday/White/Brown/Tatum/Horford/Porzingis
Pritchard/Hauser/Brissett/Kornet seems like the next tier of bench guys, with Pritch looking like the lead guy there
Banton/Svi M./Walsh/Stevens/Gabriel look like the next tier of bench guys, with Banton/Svi and to a lesser degree Stevens so far looking like the biggest threats to break into the second tier if opportunity presents.

Booker, Beal and Gordon are going to get the bulk of the guard minutes. Damion Lee/Goodwin and Eubanks/Metu are will compete for minutes. However, the most interesting depth chart question all season is going to be the forward rotation

Who starts next to Durant and Ayton in front court is the big question. Okogie is a plus POA defender and that’s probably the most important need from a fifth starter but his shooting is streaky. KD/KBD/Ayton creates an intriguing big lineup for certain matchups. Watanabe may turn out to be the best fit of the three as a decent defender and good shooter.
you missed allen, who i think is likely one of the first 2 guards off the bench

I posted that way before the trade

I’ll update tho. Thanks

[quote="jredsaz"]Phoenix Suns
*Updated for Ayton Trade

Booker/Allen/Goodwin
Beal/Gordon/D. Lee/ Johnson
Okogie/Watanabe/Little/Wainwright
Durant/Bates-Diop/Metu
Nurkic/Eubanks/Bol

TW: S. Lee/Azubuike

Suns got wildly deep with the Ayton trade. Nurk offers a different skill set and playmaking ability that wasn’t a part of Aytons game. Allen is another shooter with playoff experience.

There is going to be a lot of competition for playing time. I think they will have the depth and rotation to manage the regular season with the games KD, Beal and Booker will inevitably miss. Defense and health are the question marks. If they are healthy in May and June and can be a top 10ish defense sky is the limit.

Since there hasn't been a Bucks one since the Lillard trade:

Damian Lillard/Cam Payne/TyTy Washington/Lindell Wigginton at Point
Malik Beasley/Pat Connaughton/MarJon Beauchamp/A.J. Green at Small Wing
Khris Middleton/Jae Crowder/Aaron Jackson Jr at Big Wing
Giannis Antetokounmpo/Bobby Portis/Chris Livingston at Forward
Brook Lopez/Robin Lopez/Thanasis Antetokounmpo at Center

It would be wiser exchange Malik for Pat on the starting unit. And Bobby should be the center and MarJon the wing on the bench unit.

Roster (as of today -15 & 3 two way)
PG : Giddey 6-8, Cason Wallace 6-4 , Tre Mann 6-3,
SG : SGA 6-6, Micic 6-5, Isaiah Joe 6-3,
SF :, Dort 6-4, Kenrich Williams 6-6, Aaron Wiggins 6-5,
PF : Jalen Williams 6-5 , Poku 7-0, Ous Dieng 6-9, Davis Bertans 6-10
C : Chet Holgrem 7-1, Jaylin Williams 6-9

Bold - confirmed starter (4)
Underlined - potential rotational players (7)
Players I want get minutes but unable to fit as underlined (wiggins, after a consolidation trade) , Dieng (after he proof himself in the gleague)

Two way -
Keyontae Johnson 6-6(G/F),
Lindy Waters 6-6(G/F),
Oliver Sarr 7-0(C).

Pending incoming -Patty Mills 6-0
Waived
Rudy Gay -6.5m
Tyty Washington -2.3m
Usman Garuba -2.6m
KPJ - 15.8m (traded Oladipo/JRE to reduce roster spot before opening day)
Jack white

Needs -
1. get down to 15 man roster . With Mills incoming and Jack White on a guaranteed contract we are now 19 roster. Oladipo is 1 given he’s injured. JRE/Mann/White might be the next 3 with a chance that Mills get a buyout and we keep 1 of them instead.
2. Fill up the two way . 2 more spot
3. Playable size . Get a PF/C by decluttering some of our guards minutes but hey maybe this season Poku take a leap. Update, Dieng preseason shows something promising (ie can get some backup minutes)

Trade assets
1. picks . Within reasons we will trade them.
2. Expiring andpseudo expiring (Mills 6.8m and Bertans 17m)
3. Cheap depth . Playeribility depends on your own team roster needs. Includes Isiah Joe (2m, 2 years) , Aaron Wiggin (2m, 2 years) , JRE (2m , 2 years) Tre Mann (3m,4m)

Updated for opening night !
Playable size still remains a need. Will revisit at trade deadline. Ousmane Dieng might get into potential rotational player by Dec if all goes well. Or Poku does.

Or who am I kidding , we still need another playable big.

Toronto, based on the first 3 games

Starters
C: Poeltl
F: Siakam
F: Anunoby
F: Barnes
PG: Schroeder

Bench
C/F: Boucher
C/F: Achiuwa
F: McDaniels
SG: Trent
SG: Dick
PG: Flynn

Out of the rotation, not seen yet
Young
Porter Jr
Temple
Koloko (injured, out since start of Summer League)
Freeman-Liberty (2-way)
Nowell (2-way)
Harper Jr (2-way)

Comments:
- Scottie at PG? Well, sorta. He's fantastic leading the break, but the half-court O is bad. There's hope they learn the new system and get better, but being the 22nd rated O looks like an absolute best case
- The D looks good, with the potential to be great (top 5?) even without Koloko anchoring bench minutes at C
- Boucher sat the first game before the new Head Coach (Darko) figured out that, despite his flaws, he consistently brings needed energy, hustle and D off the bench to go along with a few low-IQ bonehead plays
- Fan base is already ready to buy Flynn a one-way ticket to China, even though for a 3rd year in a row the bench minutes are dicey at best because of a lack of PG play
- Dick looks promising as a shooter/cutter with some ball handling; decent floor game for a rookie; still looks like a High School kid and it will be a year or two before he has the physique of a real NBA player

after two games it's

McConnell was expected to be the odd man out and that was true in game one, but he was a key substitute in game two. Nesmith is pushing for a starting spot as Mathurin and Toppin have struggled on defense.

Hield now starting with Mathurin coming off the bench.

Celtics starters are definitely:

Porzingis
Tatum
Brown
White
Holiday

The rest of the core rotation is:

Horford
Hauser
Pritchard

Horford starts when Porzingis is out, and sometimes when somebody else is out instead.
Hauser is next in line to get a start when there are injuries.

Kornet is generally the third center. Queta is challenging for that role and expected to be converted from a 2-way deal, but Kornet is still ahead (and excelled last night in his first start).

And among the splinter collectors:

Brissett is the most common extra guy in the front court, but Stevens got a start against his old team.

Banton is the fourth PG, and actually got a start over Pritchard.

Pacers have shuffled the starters with Brown out.

Haliburton, Nembhard, Nesmith, Smith, and Turner.

Mathurin, Jackson, Toppin, Hield, and, when he returns Brown, all get significant PT. McConnell provides energy when needed.

Sheppard, Walker, Nwora, and Johnson rarely play.

it's a little early to say starting Smith is a permanent change but they do want to get Nesmith more minutes at 3 and fewer at 4.

Brown is back but Nembhard is now injured. So Brown starts and TJ joins the second unit.

Post deadline depth chart

NYK
Brunson | McBride
DiVincenzo | Burks
(Anunoby) | Hart
(Randle) | Bogdanovic* | Achiuwa
(Robinson) | Hartenstein | Sims

with 2.5M under that tax and 2 open roster spots to sign a 3rd string guard

*Though I won't be surprised if Precious plays over Bojan in the playoffs because of the way Thibs has Achiuwa defending & minimizing the dumb mistakes

Pacers post trade deadline

Haliburton, McConnell
Nembhard, McDermott?, Sheppard
Nesmith, Mathurin?, Walker
Siakam, Toppin, Walker
Turner, Smith, Jackson, Johnson

One open roster spot. Johnson is a mentor/player-coach and not expected to play often.

The question marks are because we don't know yet whether McDermott and Mathurin will be twos or threes but it probably doesn't matter. It's also possible Sheppard will be in the ten man rotation. Doug is better on offense and Sheppard is better on defense. I expect experience will favor Doug come playoff time.

My subjective opinion on Memphis’s roster (healthy version):

Ja - Rose - Pippen (2 way) - Goodwin (2 way)
Bane - Kennard - Ziare W. (2-3)
Vince W. (1-3) - GGJ (3-4) - Konchar - Yuta W.
Smart (1-4) - Aldama - Stevens - LaRavia (3-4)
JJJ (4-5) - Clarke - Jemison (2 way)

* (3/4) refers to the positions the player can effectively play
** (italic) refers to players who are unlikely seen as a solution beyond the current season

Star level:
5 star: Ja, Bane, JJJ
Tier 1: Smart, Vince
Tier 2: GG Jackson, Clarke
Tier 3: Konchar, ZW, Aldama, Kennard
Tier 4: the rest
