Pure tax dodge for GS. Lester Quinones passed him in the rotation and he'll probably get CoJo's roster spot eventually.

Gotta assume its a 31-55 protected pick or something like that.

Convenient, since Warriors are playing against Pacers today. Wonder if he will be available for Pacers today.
Think it will save like 10 mils+ for Warriors.

We'll have to replace him at some point because this leaves us with only 13 players, but assuming it's Lester the second year min is a couple hundred thousand less than the vet min.

Every dollar counts when it's getting 7-8x'ed lol.

GS is getting an actual 2nd (worst of all Indy’s this year), and giving up $5.8m in cash and a fake 2nd via Charlotte.

My man didn’t even have time to Google “Zillow Indianapolis” before he got cut.

Once again Scoot was right. CoJo will be waived and JJ resigned.

A win for both teams I guess.

One of those, "we both win by subtraction" deals.

He's being waived. Korkmaz too. There's another signing coming.

Yeah, I think Warriors would drag Lester's two-way status as long as possible, then sign him a deal like how they did with Lamb. Even if they save half a mil, it would be like 4 mils saving lol.

IIRC they can only carry 13 players for 2 weeks before they have to sign a 14th, so I’m guessing that’s when Les gets patched over to the main squad

2 weeks at a time and 4 weeks total. Could do 2 weeks at 13, sign a ten day, another 2 weeks at 13, and then convert Les for the rest of season and maximize the tax savings?

We did two weeks at the start of the season before we signed Gui so I think we only have 2 weeks left

Looking at some of the trades that are affecting the 2024 Draft.

This was a pretty brilliant trade by the Warriors to basically get the 53rd pick for free.
Instead of giving more tax money to the League, they basically just sent that money to Indy.

They paid $6 million for that pick. Yeah they saved whatever off the tax, but I don’t see how this was brilliant

I think that move saved like 10 mils luxury tax bill for Warriors. So, Pacers would get 6 mils, and Warriors would save 4 mils + one 2nd rounder. Warriors gave Hornet's 2025 2nd rounder, but that's 55th protected. Nice little deal to save some cash at the end.

What's the limit that a team can take in Cash for trades. Isn't there an aggregate limit? I know the Pacers got money from the LAL for the 40th pick in the last draft but I guess that was really before the new season started in July.
