SAS / Nets

Post#1 » by louc1970 » Sun Apr 14, 2024 3:40 pm

Depending on the lottery picks this year (if Toronto’s pick conveys):

SAS sends Johnson, Jones, the second 24 FRP, a 25 FRP
Nets return Bridges, Whitehead (add filler to help out Nets financially).
Spurs get a clear #2 option in Bridges.
Nets get a feasible Johnson and picks to begin a rebuild. Financially it does not harm the Nets. And they gain 2 lottery picks versus the earlier Rocket scenarios.

Nets have no control over their draft picks till 2027, they can't rebuild this way /thread.

Correct. That is why you make the trade while also getting a young player.
Currently Nets are headed to purgatory. May as well get some picks while on that road.

Lol nets are never doing this, they already turned down what would have been a better trade than this

If Keldon is an asset around the league, this seems like decent value. A top 8 pick and another first is about all it needs.. But even with his small contract, I just don’t Keldon is an asset in this type of trade.

I think it’s a coin flip for Brooklyn, and weird to take their prospect. Edits - think both Utah and Atlanta top this and their first is close enough that it’s probably the same “tier”.. and maybe a tanking team offers a higher first..

This would not happen. But, if this scenario were to be discussed this is not enough for BK from SAS.
