Hou - Cavs

Post#1 » by LarsV8 » Sun Apr 14, 2024 6:45 pm

To Cle
Dillon Brooks
Jock Landale
Jae'Sean Tate
Alperen Sengun
2024 #1 Nets (likely 9)
2026 #1 better of Houston or Nets
2027 Nets #1

To Hou
Donovon Mitchell
Jared Allan

Cleveland solves their Mitchell issue and retools around Mobley / Sengun / Garland. Balances their roster a bit, although leaves a hole at PG which would need to be solved via the draft.

Garland /
Levert / Tate
Brooks / Struss
Sengun / Niang
Mobley / Landale

Houston gets their offensive engine, and also balances their roster a bit.

Mitchell / Amen
FVV / Green
Eason / Whitmore
Jabari / Green
Allen / Adams

Houston certainly has the pieces to make a trade for Mitchell. Maybe some version of this where the Rockets keep Sengun, the Cavs keep Allen, but Green gets put in. I don't think the Cavs would trade Allen in the same deal as Mitchell.

I would much much much rather do this instead, don't even get the point of keeping Jalen if you trade for Mitchell

I'd say Mitchell for Jalen+Cam+Dillon and a bunch of picks. Would love to keep cam but idk how realistic that would be

I'd probably want at least one of Whitmore/Green/Eason rather than Brooks/Tate/Landale+picks if I'm Cleveland and I decide to move two core pieces.

Some of that is salary filler, but I would change the Nets picks for Green.

Mitchel
Allan

for

Sengun
Green
Brooks
Tate or Landale

Brooks, Amen and the nets picks.
CLE gets big time defense and height across the board.

I would rather keep Brooks but he is exactly what Cleveland needs.

Actually, if I were Cleveland, Whitmore and Brooks along with picks. Strong D but whitmore’s scoring would help replace Mitchell.

Amen is basically untouchable.

A lot of his game is great. I have no faith in his shooting developing. So, I would deal him for the right price.

I'm all the way out on this. It's not fixable. We're downgrading at two positions for no reason.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

This is a very very easy no thanks for me. Sengun plus 3 firsts plus Brooks and 2 other role players for Mitchell and Allen? No way. There is absolutely zero need to make a trade like that for Houston. I feel like this is very same mistake the Cavs made when they traded for Mitchell in the first place.
