Nets | Cavs | Suns: Bridges | Mitchell | Booker

Post#1 » by Wolveswin » Sat Apr 27, 2024 3:39 pm

Cavs Trade:
Mitchell + Filler (Wade?)
FOR
Mikal Bridges + Grayson Allen + 27 76ers 1st (via Nets)
Why= just can’t risk losing Mitchell for nothing.

Suns Trade:
Booker + Allen + Filler (Little?)
FOR
Simmons (expiring) + Schroeder (expiring) + Choose 1x Nets Youth (Cam or Whitehead or Clowney) + All Suns 1sts/Swap (returned via Nets) + 29 Mavs 1st (via Nets)
Why= start the rebuild. KD next to highest bidder.

Nets Trade:
Bridges + Simmons + 1x Youth + All Owed Picks
FOR
Mitchell + Booker + Cavs & Suns Filler
Why= set backcourt for years. Who is coming next? Getting Booker + Mitchell makes trading Bridges (needed to get Mitchell) doable.

Claxton | Sharpe
DFS | Clowney?
Johnson | Whitehead?
Booker | Cam?
Mitchell

Since Allen got over a 5% raise, he can’t be traded for most of the offseason. I guess the deal can wait til October if that’s the only hold up

Phoenix trading Booker and Alllen just for the right to tank (despite owing multiple swaps to other teams) feels like this deal isn’t close. Phoenix can’t actually enter a bottom out rebuild and hope to tank for years like this return would set up..

Maybe a 2024 lottery pick, the 2025 Phoenix first, and a handful of other team firsts works. But I don’t see that as realistic

My only issue with this is it leaves the Nets in the same position Phoenix is in now.

2 guards who can’t play point and are too small to play SF.

Nets wouldn’t trade Bridges for their picks returned but the Suns do it with Booker?

Bad for Cavs (although it really depends on his market if demanding a trade), terrible for Suns, and unbelievable for the Nets, imo

Too much for Mitchell, bad execution for the Suns,

Cavs fans will need to chime in. I don’t think that is true nor ideal for Mitchell.

Reroute that 76ers 1st to Suns then. Do you really think Suns - if going rebuild - are getting more than that for Booker?

I don't think they are going rebuild by trading Booker at all so whether or not they could get more value from someone else hardly matters.

So Mitchell and "filler" (Dean Wade isn't "filler", and CERTAINLY not in THIS deal...) for a 3rd option in Bridges and a role-player in Allen? hard pass from this Cavs fan...
