Denver/Chicago Draft day trade

Post#1 » by youngthegiant » Wed May 1, 2024 8:41 pm

Denver Trades: 2024 1st rd pick(#28), Julian Strawther, Jalen Pickett, 2024 2nd rd pick(#56)

Chicago Trades: Alex Caruso

Why: Denver gets an upgraded version of Bruce Brown to add to their roster and use him as their sixth man. Chicago gets a 1st rd pick plus two strong prospects that Denver has in their cupboard of potential players that didn't get a chance this season.

I would hope CHI could get a better return if they move AC.

set aside the CBA issues Godaddy pointed out--if Chicago kept holding on to Caruso all this time to trade him for essentially nothing.....

Mainly the Bulls don't need to trade for a pair of prospects. They don't want Pickett, they probably have 5 on the roster ahead of him, plus Lonzo and some G league guys they know. Strawther is a maybe since he was at least a 1st round pick. Much would depend on what the Bulls saw in him before the draft, maybe they liked him maybe not. Obviously the rookies weren't going to get much playing time on a championship team.

The picks are good not great 28 and 56 but unless the Bulls clear out more veterans than Caruso they have Terry, Phillips, Bitim, Sanogo and a couple of others to get looks. Nnaji at least shows up at a position of need to look at.

I think many teams top this, but it's fair to see what the 29th best offer is, which OP presented.

AC needs to be a Knick if AK is finally ready to sell.

Caruso will get better offers than this if he's on the market.
