Brooklyn gets their man to pair with Bridges. They also have enough assets left to make a trade in the future. Cleveland brings Lauri back and adds a nice 3/4 swing piece in Cam. Utah adds 2 high upside draft picks with a nice young prospect in Clowney.

Jazz need the 2029 Mavs pick as well and then it's probably yes.

Interesting. Maybe Utah just won't trade Lauri then because those 3 picks plus Clowney is too much to ask for Lauri with 1 year left. As a Cavs fan I would probably cut Utah out if Brooklyn is willing to give up all of that--which I seriously doubt.

It’s probably fair value for Brooklyn but I wouldn’t do it as we already have a younger Mitchell in Thomas & Clowney is promising.
I am actually more interested in Lauri for the Nets rather than Mitchell

I THINK we can get the 2028, 2029 Clippers picks and the 2028, 2029, 2030 76ers picks from the 76ers just because the 76ers need Lauri's small salary so badly. So teams may have to compete with that.
But we'll see.

Look at Mitchell stats at the same as Thomas who has way less experience

I look at Thomas' stats and they are some of the worst in the NBA.

I'm cutting the Jazz out of this and dealing directly with Brooklyn.

Now compare them to Mitchell at the same age
They’re the same player
Edit: Cam is actually younger for a 3rd year player but won’t hold that against Donovan

The same
Do
Do you only look at PPG or something.
Is this a joke.
Cam Thomas was one of the worst players in the NBA last year, as shown by how the Nets were absolutely horrible.
The Nets were +0.6 with Cam off the court and were -6.2 with him on the court. He is very bad.

Ainge dumped Mitchell because the Jazz are terrified of trade requests and Mitchell really disliked Utah because it was offputting due to how few black people live there.
Mitchell was pretty great.
Cam Thomas is not good at all, he is very bad.

How are they different at the same age?
Same scoring, same efficiency, both suck on defence but Cam is a better passer

A. You are insane for thinking this
B. The Nets likely will not trade both PHX picks this off-season for only Mitchell
C. I love you for saying this and love Jazz fans

The jazz would love that with us owning your future drafts. Trading Mitchell to get back future picks and now impact player sounds great.

You won't find a single person that agrees with you that Thomas is a younger Mitchell. Not one.

I didn't say this exact trade. I'd want DFS included as well and I think I'd prefer the 2025 1st versus the 2029 1st. I might prefer Simmons, all three Suns 1sts, and to ship Niang out with Mitchell.

1) I don't attribute much value to Clowney, so just let Brooklyn keep him
2) the earliest pick being in 2027 means that the first parts of the payoff are extremely far away
3) 'too much to ask for Lauri with 1 year left' --- that's fine, we have the option to renegotiate and extend him, and I doubt he will say no considering that he would be leaving up to $24 million on the table for *next year.* If a team wants to trade for Lauri, they are going to have to offer value that is at least similar to what we'd get from an extended Lauri. If that is not on the table (and the only reason it might be is because of his low salary this season) then we will extend him and see what will happen in 2025.

Basing your entire assessment of a player on a single season’s +/- is pretty ridiculous.
Plenty of stats to look at that show he’s far from “very bad” at 22 years old.
