UTA-ORL

Post#1 » by HadAnEffectHere » Wed May 8, 2024 1:25 pm

Magic get: Lauri Markkanen
Jazz get: Anthony Black, unprotected 2026 pick (best of Magic-Suns), right to swap worst 2027 pick with top 4 protected Magic pick, right to swap worst 2029 pick with unprotected 2029 Magic pick, unprotected 2031 pick.

Why for Orlando: Get an elite off-ball scorer who won't take the ball out of the hands of Paolo or Franz and the Magic have enough cap space to still re-negotiate and extend Lauri.

Why for Utah: Get a really good prospect and some good picks and get to tank.

I just don't see the fit with Lauri on the Magic, I'd love to get him but I don't see it. It would pigeonhole Suggs and Franz into the two guard spots, and I think that limits our ceiling unless Suggs and Franz take huge leaps in ball handling/playmaking.

This assumes that the Magic want to have Paolo and Franz being basically co-PGs on offense and don't want to bring in another ball handler, but do want more offense.

thats the thing. we really need a PG and not force Paolo and Franz to "have" to be the PG's. then you have 3-4 players unselfish passers and with better ball movement. And where would Lauri play? center? Paolo is already our PF. I just dont think it makes sense.

Doesn’t work for either team. You don’t trade unicorns for those meh picks.

Magic just don't have the need to risk all this on a player that overlaps with their best player and is still a walk risk.

Great talent, fair deal...terrible fit. No from ORL.
