GSW-MIL Trade

GSW trades:
Kosta Perovic
Monta Ellis

Mil Trades:
Yi Jianlian

Why for GSW:
We have enough guards. And Ellis will ask for a lot this offseason. Jianlian would make us a lot of money marketing wise and should be a nice fit for out team. Also, we would have him for a lot longer. Given that we are probably in his top 3 places to play we should get a discount when resigning him. Big men are VERY hard to find and he would be a near perfect fit with his skills.

Why for MIL:
Is an likleyhood they loose Jianlian after his rookie contract is up and they would get nothing. Ellis would bring as much excitement as any player could bring to MIL.

Thoughts?

I am sure people from both sides will hate it. Which means its probably fair.

MIL Laughs at this offer, Monta Ellis cannot command that kind of value.

Ellis is also about to get paid through FA, and him in the backcourt with Redd and/or Mo Williams? NOT a good idea.

Is your brain working?

Milwaukee laughs at GSW? They get one of the most efficient, exciting and valuable guards in the league for a rental on a guy who doesn't want to be there who scores 6 less ppg and shoots a lower percentage as a PF.

Ellis is easier to market in MIL than Jianlian is.

Its funny you should mention that, seeing as how ELLIS is the one who is going to be a FA soon.

is your brain working?

In what WAY,SHAPE or FORM is Ellis easier to market?

Unless Ellis is Indian, and I doubt he is, Yi is infinitely more marketable.

Yi is a raw rookie, comparing his numbers to a former MIP(didn't Ellis win this award last year?) is really unfair if you ask me.

Ellis is more marketable because
1) he is a guard.
2) he is one of if not the fastest players in the league.
3) I said so.

What do you honestly think the chances of Yi resigning?

Very good.

Why?

1.) In an era with more and more players getting OVERPAID, less teams will have the capspace to sign Yi to a lucrative big deal he may want, something MIL CAN do.

2.) Because I said so. 8)

Warriors pass...

We don't want to give up a guy that puts up 17/4/3.5/50%fg for one that puts up 11/6 for one of the worst teams in the league.

One could cite upside being on the side of Yi, but Monta is a year younger, so they both can improve at the same rate over the next few years :D

We're not going to trade one of the key pieces of our offense for a rookie prospect we have no interest in.

So what if the Bay Area has a large Asian community. We don't want or need Yi.

Bad trade for Milwaukee just not what we need at the moment or do we want to get rid of Yi that easly

In case you did not notice the W's are selling out most every game. They
don't need to get a player like Yi in order to market the team. Monta has
improved from last year when he was MIP. If the Warriors trade Monta it
better be as part of a package for a proven PF like Gasol as they already
have their PF of the future in B.Wright.

No way does Golden State do this they already have a project PF in Brandon Wright so I don't see why they would want Yi.

Yi is not getting traded, especially for nothing.it would take a superstar to get Yi.

Yeah no. Ellis and Yi, both are good young players, but there's one major difference. Yi is 7 feet tall.

no way this happens, Nellie doesn't like players who are easy to guard.

Right, 7 footers who have picture perfect jumpers and the ability to put the ball on the floor. Easy to guard. You're right.

being a jump shooter is exactly the reason he's easy to guard. you can guard Yi with a small forward, his post game isn't good enough to take advantage of smaller guys.

He has a good post game, it just isn't utilized because his defenders are usually stronger. You put a smaller guy on him, and Yi will do well down low. He has a variety of moves in the post, he just has trouble finishing against stronger defenders. Even so, you put a smaller guy on him, Yi will just shoot over them.

Ellis is easier to market in MIL than Jianlian is.

And the Warriors would not do it anyhow. We have a rookie PF. Don't even use him enough. Ellis is a young star and a keeper. He's also the #2 PG...and there is no #3. That's in addition to starting SG. I'd rather clone him than trade him.
