Redd to the Raptors

Post#1 » by Storm Surge » Sat Jan 5, 2008 7:12 pm

Michael Redd

for

Anthony Parker
Jose Calderon
Andre Bargnani

Why for MIL? They get 3 solid players, increase their depth, and start the process of semi-rebuilding, as this team can still compete if a few guys step up.

Why for TOR? They get a top SG to pair with Bosh, let's hope TJ Ford comes back healthy, and they can be deadly.

That's too much for Redd IMO.

Why would we wan't Bargnani when we got the same type hybrid player with Yi who is almost more physical though. We got the better version.

Pretty good deal. Calderon a restricted FA next year?

Redd's not making us a contender, no thank you. We'll keep our young guys.

And Redd doesn't even command that kind of value...

Too much for Toronto to give up.

The Bucks and Raptors are terrible trading partners; all of our young talent is in the frontcourt and at PG, just like the Bucks. Plus, that's just far too much to trade for Redd.

I doubt that it works for Milwaukee with Homefries replacing Bargs, and it still doesn't make much sense for either team...Toronto gets solid value in Redd, but is left with no depth up front, and with the infamous Dixon/Martin pairing at point guard for at least a month. Milwaukee faces the unenviable task of having to re-sign Calderon to a large contract and either follow with a trade of Mo Williams or pay their two PGs in excess of $15m a season.
