What would you give for Magloire?

Post#1 » by kidd0701 » Sun Jan 6, 2008 3:42 am

He's the odd man out of the Nets big man rotation who have been suprisingly very good this year. The nets need a shooter/swingman
Magloire is expiring and can really help some teams.

Damon Jones, he's a shooter and guard. Plus, we need a big.

Magliore has looked pretty much like crap the last 3-4 seasons already hasn't he? Most of the time looks like he's wearing cement in his sneakers. I mean it's not like he's on a team that is deep in experienced bigs. And 31% FG for a C is kinda just mind boggling isn't it?

31% FG, 2.2 PPG

If this surprised you at how good he has been this year, were you expecting him to be shooting into the other player's basket?

I think he means the rest of the Nets' power rotation has been surprisingly good.

Ahh -- you're right. I need to slow down when I read .. I'm not used to seeing "good" in a post about Magloire. Josh Boone and Sean Williams have certainly been doing a good job lately.

sorry about that, kidd.

Magloire has little to zero value around the league.

WHen the Bucks acquired him we gave up Desmond Mason and a late first round pick.

When the Bucks moved him we got Steve Blake, Brian Skinner and Ha Seung Jin.

Then after Portland he was in such high demand he got a 1YR/$4M deal from New Jersey.

I would give Charlie Bell if you want to take on his contract

What about a bigger deal w/ the Kings.

Nets deal-
Jamaal Magloire
Jason Collins
2008 1st round pick
2010 or 2011 1st round pick

Nets recieve-
Brad Miller
Francisco Garcia

Kings deal-
Brad Miller
Francisco Garcia

Kings recieve-
Jamaal Magloire
Jason Collins
2008 1st round pick
2010 or 2011 1st round pick

Nets new lineup-
Kidd/Williams
Carter/Garcia/Wright
Jefferson/Nachbar
Williams/Krstic
Miller/Boone

Nets become a very talented and versatile team and can compete in the east but mortgage their future a bit with losing the 2 picks.

Kings new lineup
Bibby/Udrih
Kmart/Douby
Artest/Salmons
Moore/K9/SAR
Hawes/Williams/Collins/Magloire

Kings move closer to rebuilding.

If the Hawks are stupid enough to dump 2 productive players for a rd 2---the Nets should be thrilled to oblige

He could wear "Regressed" on the back of his jersey and everyone would know it was him. That he's cheap and the Nets still see him as expendable says a lot.

Yeah, Garcia has no place in this trade.

I would love to do Collins+Magloire for Miller. Would the '08 1st be enough to get Rutgers product Douby back in NJ? SAC does get a nice bit of cap relief...
