I think you might have something there. I would think Milwaukee accepts pretty quickly

I wouldn't expect something like this from you, devilz. I think this is awful for the Wolves.

I think it balances the teams better. Yi/CV are both perimeter based PFs and Jefferson/Smith are both purely paint PFs so its hard to play either combo together. But you can play Yi/Smith together and Jefferson/CV together without them getting in eachother's way. Jaric and Green give Milwaukee PG/SG/SF depth so they don't have to play Royal Ivey 30 mpg when somebody gets injured. Milwaukee gives up Gadz who never plays and has an identical contract to Jaric.

MN is getting Foye back so they can afford to deal Jaric, plus they free up a roster spot to sign a PG to ten-day contract if necessary. Gadz gives them a center to move Jefferson back to PF more often and CV provides basically the same thing Smith provides, decent rebounding, good offense, shameful defense, except he does it more from the perimeter which would be helpful for spreading the floor for Jefferson if they want to go with Jefferson at center like they do when SMith is on the floor with Al.

Oh, one thing I forgot about. Now MN doesn't have to worry about extending Smith this offseason because CV is under contract one more year still. Should help financially.

Bucks say yes no problem.

Although I wouldn't mind if you swap Gomes for Smith or Green

MN probably values Smith more than Gomes, so if you want...

Gomes could start at SF for us

Smith would never be more than a backup PF although I do like Smith.

There were actually rumors that we promised to draft him. Obviously we did not.

the Bucks were very very high on Smith in that draft...

No chance they pass on acquiring him.

I would turn this down very quick. I think this is a very bad deal.

I like Smith too, but I'd much rather have Gomes who could start at SF rather than Smith who would be a career backup PF for us

We need to fix our starting lineup hole (SF) before we worry about backups

While the fit is better, this is too much to give up for the Wolves.

Jaric > Gadzuric, who seems to have quit on the team. Gadz is averaging 3 PPG, 2.8 RPG in 10.3 MPG. He has the same 4-year deal that Jaric does.

Also, I'm not impressed with Charlie Villanueva. His complete unwillingness to play defense has cost him playing time, and I would not trade Gerald Green and Craig Smith for him, nor GG and Gomes.

I don't mind a deal based on Jaric-and-Gadzuric, but MIL's got to do better than this. I still think a fairer deal is Jaric + Gomes for Gadz + lotto-protected 1st. It creates a roster spot for MIN (to sign Mbenga?), and allows MIL a chance to swap Villanueva elsewhere.

Smith has the 2nd worst plus/minus on the team. He's a talented player, but his style doesn't fit with Jefferson. Also, no matter what, he'll always be 6'6".

Villanueva is a year younger, a year more under contract, 5" taller, and is the yin to Jefferson's yang. I know he doesn't play defense, but if you're not going to play defense, at least be tall and get in the way.

I don't even like Jaric of Gadz alone. I still think that the only reason to trade Jaric would be for a two year contract - if we could get that, I'd throw in Green or a 2nd, maybe Gomes or Bassy. (If Bassy, a PG would have to be coming back eg Snow)

I'd do it and I'd throw in Ryan Gomes for free.

At first glance I'd do this for MN, but what is up with CV? I thought he showed some good talent and promise his rookie year, but his numbers have declined each year he's been in the league. I dont see him play enough to know what his deal is.

I wasnt talking about my personal preferences. I am talking about the Bucks management in general. They would take Smith over Gomes 100 out of 100 times.

On a personal level Gomes isn't a lock for starter for really anyone. He is a tweener 3/4 who is best suited as a 6th man. The biggest problem with the recent moves Milwaukee has made is they try and make 6th men type players into starters. This would be an equally lateral move.

For the Wolves, i say hell no. Gadz doesnt help much. He is less productive and it seems like we trying to force ANYBODY to the 5 just to get Jefferson back to the 4. Green and Smith together are at the very least equal to CV, i think much more valuable personally. Throwing Gomes in there only makes me hate it more.
