Boston-Like Trade Scenario

Post#1 » by sunshine-state » Fri Jan 11, 2008 4:07 am

To Memphis:

Andrea Bargnani
Joey Graham
Jorge Garbajosa
2009 1st Round Pick

To Toronto:

Pau Gasol

Simultaneously --->

To Milwaukee:

Anthony Parker
Rasho Nesterorvic
2008 1st Round Pick

To Toronto:

Michael Redd

We start:

Gasol (C)
Bosh (PF)
Moon (SF)
Redd (SG)
Calderon (PG)

w/ Delfino, Kapono, Humphries, Baston and TJ Ford (possibly starting) off the bench.

We end up a poor man's Celtics, but way younger, way stronger 1-5, and with a better bench.

Milwaukee gets loads of capspace in '09, a more defensively oriented SG to replace Redd, the 1st round pick and a competent big man to help tutor Yi and Bogut.

Memphis gets young talent (and can play Bargs at his more natural PF position) as well as the glue guy (Garbo) they are looking to help ease Bargnani's introduction and placate Navarro. They also get that pick.

Hey, I think it works. Let the flame begin!

p.s. yeah we would be in salary cap hell for like 5 years.

Second trade won't happen.

We also can't trade consecutive firsts.

Gasol trade is fair, Redd trade is terrible for Milwaukee, and as noted before, trading consecutive picks not allowed

Give me a break. Just because Graham was a first round pick, doesnt mean he has 1st round pick value any more. And Bargnani doesnt have nearly as much value as he did when he was drafted (or after his first year). Right now, he probably has as much value as tyrus thomas, which isnt that high.

the deal proposed for gasol here isnt far from Tyrus Thomas, Joakim Noah, 1st round pick and filler, which I think Chicago would be all over.

And yes, Gasol would command 3 1st rounders if the filler was worthless (which this pretty much is).

^especially if one of those "first round Picks" is Joey Friggen Graham.
