Sports radio in NYC reporting Knicks and Suns talking Amare!

Post#1 » by Frazier10 » Thu Feb 5, 2009 10:23 pm

Buzz is the Knicks and Suns are in heated talks over Amare Stoudemire, who wants to play for Mike D'Antoni again. The report says Walsh is trying to land another 1st round draft pick, from a 3rd NBA team to get another piece for the Suns.

So if the Knicks make a deal to aquire another 1st round pick, do not be shocked if Amare is re-united with D'Antoni soon.

Suns trade:
Stoudemire, Barbosa & Tucker

Knicks trade:
Lee, Chandler & Marbury with another team 1st round pick

that seems like a pretty weak offer for Amare.

Wow, Kerr would be a complete a-hole if he did that to Phoenix fans.

Not for nothing, but Amare has really put Kerr behind the 8 ball on this one.

If you read between the lines he has basically said he is going to play in NY, period, as long as D'Antoni is there and they have cap room to sign him to a max deal.

MIN will give you one of their 1sts in a Malik for Cardinal + McCants deal.

Cardinal still expires before your 2010 deadline, and you can do what you want with McCants RFA, but depending on the PHO deal, you might be back over the lux for 2009-10.

Like my Knicks deal better that I posted yesterday:

New York gets: Amare/Barbosa/Barnes/Tucker
Phoenix gets: Robinson/Harrington/Chandler/Lee/Thomas

Personally, from an outsiders point of view, I'd say that the Knicks would have to include Gallinari or Nate in this deal too to make it even remotely worthwhile for the suns. But who knows... I was thinking it would have to be something more like this:

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=4973453

But who knows? Maybe Amare has destroyed his value already. But the knicks have to be thinking of how well he played for D'Antoni in Phoenix before and knowing they could get atleast that out of him as a featured player. Kerr can definitely get more than OPs deal.

Seems closer in value for me as well, but I think PHX would prefer LB over Nate

Yeah, this looks like a sign-and-trade package. Amare is forcing his way to D'Antoni, all teams know that and dont offer more value than this for a one-and-a-half-year rental.

If Suns somehow got Duhon, they'd want to keep Barbosa I'd imagine...

Duhon
Harrington
DLee
Chandler

for

Amare
Dragic
Barnes

Suns are getting too much from NY's point of view most likely...but I'd do it in a heartbeat from Suns point of view...We need guys like Lee and Chandler rather than egotistical meatheads

So the Knicks trade for Amare and manage to keep their draft pick? Not happening. Any Knicks offer is going to be weak, but this one is ever worse...

Lee
Galinari
A couple firsts

...seems a lot more reasonable.

I don't get it. This would kill NY's dream of having two stars in 2010 with
Amare
Barbosa
Jeffries
Curry

All on the books for decent money.

NY would have to look for a way to move Curry and/or Jeffries, if not in this deal another one.

What about

Lee
Nate
Gallinari or Chandler
M.Rose
Jeffries or Curry

for

Amare
Tucker
Dragic

?

Or I don't see why NY just doesn't wait until 2010.

^^^
Because no one outside of NY actually believes good players on good teams like Wade, Johnson, or Lebron will actually leave good teams to play for their bad team.

Hopefully Amare is traded as trades are exciting. Lue for Bogans made today the greatest day.

R.Lewis signed with sub .500 Orlando team with the belief that he and Dwight could be a contender in the East. No reason to believe that D'Antoni, Amare, deep pockets and the allure of NYC couldn't convince a star to do the same thing in 2010.

From what they reported on the radio:

Suns want- large ending contract, 1-2 young good player's and draft picks in return for Amare. Sounded to me like Kerr not trying to win now, but re-building the Suns with building blocks for next year.
