What would you offer for Jason Richardson?

Post#1 » by rsavaj » Thu Jun 18, 2009 5:13 pm

I'm trying to gauge his trade value. If you guys can find a salary dump for him, I'm all for it. If you guys can find a comparable player for him that would make Phoenix better w/o crippling them financially, I'm all for it. Ideally we'd want to replace him with a defensive wing since offense isn't our problem. Youth would be welcome as well, but it's not a requirement.

So wadya got?

Resigned Marion.

A straight salary dump? MN could offer Gomes (he has some value), Cardinal, and Madsen. I like J Rich, but I'm not sure the rest of MN's board would be in favor of this, even without giving significant value. Many Wolves fans are really protective of the 2010 cap space, and probably rightly so.

Fine with me. If we have to salary dump one of our big name players to keep the core together, I'd rather it be Richardson over Amare, Shaq or Nash

Done, but I doubt Marion/SarvKerr want a reunion.

Maybe Raja Bell? :)

Haha...

Dallas might offer Stackhouse + fillers for him.

If you are willing to dump Richardson for mere cap relief, there must be something wrong with him. What's up? His shooting numbers look pretty good for a 2 guard, albeit his PER is rather low in spite of that.

I also thought that he was considered a decent defender.

Bad bball IQ+below average defender+drunk driving with infants=PHX fans have soured on him. Barbosa replicates his production for half the price.

Boris+Raja back would be lovely :-D

Utah has a defensive wing that they'd move for Richardson. He's young and would likely be more productive in your system. His contract though is another story... :D

AK for JRich?

An offseason workout regimen!

Seriously, J-Rich doesn't look like the bouncy athlete anymore. He's only 28, but doesn't make many above-the-rim plays, and doesn't give alot of effort on the defensive end. He's turned into a power guard a la Michael Finley.

I'll see what I can cook up in the laboratory...

If I had a Carter deal lined up for expirings +....

Simmons, Najera and pick #11 for JRich and pick #14. Can also include a swap of Robin Lopez for Josh Boone or Sean Williams if the Suns want.

I still think a Deng for J-Rich swap makes some sense if the Bulls won't go over the luxury tax to re-sign BG.
