Draft Day Trades: Prediction Thread

Post#1 » by loserX » Fri Jun 19, 2009 8:12 pm

Had one of these going at the deadline, and people seemed to like it...so why not another one, with less an a week left to go.

Make one prediction of a trade to go down on Draft Day (or before...as long as you predict it before it happens ;) ). Not what you think should happen...but will happen. Whoever gets closest to one that actually happens wins a year's supply of smug satisfaction.

(For the sake of interest, let's say it has to be an actual trade...sales of picks for cash are not bold predictions and won't count.)

Somehow Amare finds his way to Sacramento. The Kings were interested in Amare during the deadline. If the Suns placed Amare on the block again, I could see the Kings acquiring him.

If one of these Rubio deals happens (#4/#23 for #2 or #4/Thomas for #2/Jaric), there's going to be alot of Memphis fans apologizing to Smills.

Neither of those deals are going to happen.

Memphis and New York draft for each other
Charlotte and Dallas draft for each other
Milwaukee and Atlanta draft for each other
Utah drafts for Toronto who drafts for Chicago who drafts for Utah and Toronto
All in context with July 9 groundbreaking trendsetting sign and trades of Ben Gordon, David Lee, Charlie Villa, Brandon Bass, Shawn Marion, Ray Felton, Ramon Sessions, and Carlos Boozer.
And the Lakers draft for somebody.

Sorry you feel that way. It's my opinion that OKC needs veteran help now, not more rookies. And specifically, they need help at C. And Kaman is the best available C out there.

You -could- draft Harden. And he'll probably be a good player in the Manu mold. Or you could play a young guy in Thabo who looks to have pretty good upside there himself.

You -could- draft Thabeet and hope he's the next Mutumbo. But, he's very raw and would likely be a few years out, if he ever pans out.

Or you could trade for an established vet who fills your biggest need. Not sure why that is so distasteful.
