What I don't understand is why people constantly want to dump Hinrich for Rudy. Is it the contract, the potential, or the height? Hinrich may very well be the perfect complement to Rose if he can get his shot down. All he really needs to do is stay at the arc and hit 3's and since Hinrich is a very good 3PT shooter, I think the Hinrich - Salmons - Rose combo is about as good as they're going to get.

Problem is the forward spots.

The Bulls just need to ride out this season as is and make a big push for Wade in the summer. If they end up getting Wade, then they'll have zero need for Rudy.

As good as Salmons is, he's not gonna hold a ton of value to the Blazers because of his contract status. Portland's FO hasn't proven to be the fastest at getting players signed to new contracts. One of the most no-brainer contracts in the past 10 years for the Blazers took nearly 2 months to get done. There's way to big of a risk of Salmons just being a 1 year rental. If contract negotiations stall (which is highly likely), he'd have plenty of other teams to get a contract from.
