glad to have the OG around

Hmmm… something sounds familiar about the role he will be fulfilling. Can’t quite figure out why.

Its similar to what Alonzo mourning started doing for Miami when he first got hired, community service face for the org, player development and strength/training, etc.

The more I look at Kris Dunn the more I think he is an excellent fit. And at a perfect point of his career that would excell here. He knows how to play point and been around for a while.

Our biggest need is a high volume high% 3 point shooter PG, how is he a good fit?

Was loving seeing the leap Bam and Herro were making together to start this season. It’s unfortunate but Herro is just flat out injury prone, no way around it. Hopefully he comes back and doesn’t miss a beat but we will see.

In our eyes I’m sure we all believe now that it’s time for Jimmy to start caring for a couple weeks and for Bam to take it up even another notch. In Spos eyes though it might be time to start spamming 3s like crazy, I feel like that’s what he resorts to when one of our “big 3” are out. At least in recent years.

I’m guessing Duncan will get his starting spot back in the meantime, we’ll need him to be efficient

Not necessarily because they you have Herro who is taking a high volume. There is no room any high volume fga person in the starting lineup. That was true when Bam was taken 10 shots a game he has taken a huge jump now above 15 fga and Herro is taking a a lot of shots. The starting line need someone who can make best on limited opportunities and add in other areas like defense and ball handling.

Also Dunn knows how to set up offense and is an excellent defender and ball handler. He has shown he is a threat if left open from 3. Dunn has the ability to make best on limited fga opportunities and add other areas

Could be better. He gotta make sure he knock down them wide open Jay's. If he could average 10 a game it would be a huge boost. He providing a lot plays like Oladipo was making

He’s never been a shooter so it’ll take time, im sure it’s the main focus with him right now

If it ain’t broke….

No need to switch things up and move to a stale, slow, predictable offense in the 4th. Especially when Jimmy doesn’t care right now

The stat from last season that Bam covered the most ground (miles run) of anyone in the NBA really sticks with me. Dude isn't just the best iso defender in the NBA, he also defends so much space that the other defenders on the floor with him have shrunken ground to cover, and with that, shrunken responsibilities that allow them to(a) defend knowing they have help (Duncan and Herro esp) and (b) take more gambles on defense (Jimmy, Herro, Lowry, etc.).

I may end up posting this in the new thread once this one gets locked, but anyone else realize that the Heat effectively have 2 mid-season breaks this season? They have a 9-day break in December that is bizarrely just as long as the All-Star break. And considering that at least Bam or Jimmy is likely to be an all-star again, this makes their December break likely their longest of the season:

Tue, 11/28 vs MIL
Thu, 11/30 vs IND
Sat, 12/2 vs IND
Mon, 12/11 @ CHA

Wed, 12/13 vs CHA

---

Sun, 2/11 vs BOS
Tue, 2/13 @ MIL
Wed, 2/14 @ PHI
Fri, 2/23 @ NO

Mon, 2/26 @ SAC

My guess is that the coaching staff has been circling that 12/2 date to get all of the experimenting done and really settle in with a consistent 4-quarter gameplan (hopefully).

Looks like he may be out until sometime around Christmas.

A grade 2 sprain means 50% of the ligament has torn. You have more swelling and pain than a grade 1 and less range of motion and weight-bearing ability. Grade 2 sprains generally take 4-6 weeks to heal.

Ankle sprains are more bad luck than injury prone, in my opinion. Regardless, FML.

Unfortunate that we have Heat fans so eager to label a Heat player “injury prone.” Sad.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?
