Healthy and this game wouldn’t be needed, we’d be locked into our matchup with the Knicks right now.
That being said, we can no longer base our regular seasons around Jimmy’s lead of not trying and taking games off. There has to be a change in hierarchy and schematics and a new all star is needed to be added to this roster.
Time to make Bam the 1st option. I recently saw a video of Michael Beasley serious faced saying "yes, Bam! I'm dead serious, see y'all really don't know Bam's game; he's the only person I've ever lost to in a 1 on 1. He's a little PG in a power foward's body". That gave me pause. I've seen little off-season snippets of him going crazy like I've never seen on the court. I think Spo needs to wake up and let him ball fr next season.
Oh trust me I know, 25-12-6 without Jimmy and Herro isn’t a fluke. When he’s asked to be the guy he steps up to the occasion quite a bit.
What majority of fans just can’t wrap their heads around is that he’s doing exactly what’s being asked of him on both ends. If we’re at full strength or have a healthy Herro and Jimmy then Bams usage and shot attempts are going to plummet because Herro has to score to back his contract as a 1 dimensional player basically.
Gotta get him legit help though on both ends, I saw a good quote on twitter earlier, “Bam makes literally everyone’s lives on the Heat easier while no one on the Heat does the same for Bam.”
He has not had anyone that can get him easy shots in the flow of the offense because our main ball handler on Herro provides little to no rim pressure because he can’t get free without a Bam screen.
It’s time for change, go all in for a Mitchell type elite offensive player this offseason that can flirt with 30 a night while Bam gives you 23-24 a night on higher efficiency while Jimmy coasts for the playoffs. At least then we’ll be a top 4 seed when we get there and won’t be risking injury in unecessary play in games.
