nice attitude he knows that he's underperforming but i think he can adjust as time goes by. some players are just built like that. hope we see it soon though as the playoffs are getting closer and closer

Reps and acclimation. I don't see him underperforming given the circumstances. Context is king.

This season's Bam development has been about finding counters and working through the double teams. There have def been growing pains, but it's all serving an important development arc for this offense.

Lalety I've found myself wondering - with free agency practically dead for star players (they all extend now and demand trades later) combined with our no tanking philosophy that prevents us from ever picking at the high lottery -

How the hell are we getting the next superstar to come here?

Stay ready, keep playing good basketball and be an attractive destination when that time comes.

Its gonna take a bit more than that to be honest. Being a good organization and having a winning culture is part of what you need. What were seeing now is Big time players no longer hit free agency, they will get traded if they don't sign that extension on their team. FO do not want to lose a big time player for nothing. So they get traded to a location of what's best for the team. As we saw from Portland, they'll do what's best for their interest and ship a big time superstar somewhere away from where they want. They set a precedence now look around did they get backlash, nothing I've seen says they will. As long as there are teams willing to take on a disgruntled player, like when Toronto took Kawai from San Antonio knowing well he wanted to be in LA. Its not going to as easy as it once was where if you were the destination, and a player demanded to go there you got there.

Our FO will have to have the cap space and player salaries available to make those kind of trades when the time comes. They will need the assets, ie young players, First Round picks. Miami is behind the curb on those things outside of JJJ, Jovic at the moment, but they gave up another First rounder for Rozier. So were now back to where we were 2 years ago with limited pick availability. I think they understand that for the next 2-3 years were not going to be making a big splash until Jimmy Retires. Outside of Bam, Herro & Rozier are the only big salaries you have to throw around for a big whale like we like to call them. From an Assets standpoint we would get outbidded by the majority of teams outside of the teams that have gone all in and are short on picks.

Not a single Heat player in the Top 30 list on the Production RAT scale. I am sometimes surprised, how we even get to where we get to not having a guy who can sustained that type of production for a full season. Jimmy would probably be top 5 on this list if he gave a damn from opening tip of game 1 through the end of 82. I guess we need to settle for 1/3 of the season and top 5 in the playoffs as long as he is our guy. Once he is gone though, whose gonna be that guy to be our number 1. I guess were 2-3 years out from that, but hopefully its a young player were we can get it for a long time, I miss having the best player on the court on most nights during a regular season game, really miss Wade. It was special from day one when he stepped on the court, as a fan I hope to one day have that feeling again.

This reminds me how Harden is "statistically" a better offensive player than Jordan, lol.

Catch-all stats always warrant serious scrutiny.

Anyone think Sabonis is a top 6 player in the NBA? I don't think he's top 20.

That stat is also heavily influenced by games played.

I am hoping Jovic plays tonight. Curious how he would do against Denver.

I came to post the exact same thing, it’s hilarious to me that Bam this year is far and away the best defender in the world (arguably even moreso than other seasons) and he’s likely not even going to finish top 3 in DPOY, might not even get 1st team.

Like all bias aside it’s easily Bam everything backs that stance. They crowned Gobert after the 1st 2 weeks of the season though just to see him get played off the court because of bad defense in the playoffs yet again when they play someone other than the nuggets who have 2 bigs that shoot 3s at low volume.

Laughable award at this point

Coup says his Bam DPOY push is cooking and it’ll be far more than a Twitter thread. Stay tuned.

Think he's our next call up or probably sniped away before we can get him?

Honestly don't know what to make of Bouyea. He's small but feisty as a defender. He seems natural running the point. But, there were questions about his shooting. He seems to be shooting well in his G League stint which is very encouraging. But, is it a fluke related to his ability to get into rhythm with high usage?

I have no idea. I believe he had a poor showing during his NBA stint with Portland earlier this season. But, Portland is a dumpster fire.
