Hey good morning, all! I’m excited to be on the first page for one of these.

On-topic: how well does Highsmith’s do this year if Caleb and Duncan are shipped out without bringing back another forward? Can he be a solid 7th man like Grant Williams?

As OP Dame doubled down on wanting nowhere but Miami and we ended it with Dames agent calling other teams and telling them not to trade for Dame. The foundation has been led and the torch has been passed to a new OP and we will seal the deal here.

I don't think anyone is left with the cap space to do what you are saying. Duncan gets paid 18 mil a year. Thats not mention the multiple picks that will be needed to get team x with capspace to even consider that.

The crap Cronin said in the article did not sound good. He basically said if there won't be any good trades they like, they are likely to keep Dame and let him play since they know he is a good pro lmao

It looks like they will wait for Dame to change his mind and increase the possible destinations just to get out of Portland.

Ok so outside of our own bias this is actually not looking good for us. So here me out, the less this becomes organically from Portland to Miami the less chance we have to get Lillard. The deeper him and his agent dig their heels into the ground and play forceful operations against the league the bigger the chance that the league turns around and decides to make an example out of this situation by making sure it is not successful.

Again I caution everyone to take a step back, and realize that the less this is organically done, through the correct process and not by an Agent/Player holding his FO hostage, the greater the chance we have of failing to get him. The league has been moving mountain in the CBA the last couple of years to make sure these things don't happen. There are owners whom hate the Heat because we are a free agent destination, and the more source this becomes I think it actually lessens our opportunity. I think it needed to happen with him calling us out from day one, but the constant push I am seeing in twitter verse from the Agent is not helping us at all to be honest.

This could seriously back fire tremendously, and I wouldn't put it past it to see a WOJ tweet in the next couple days with Damian heading to team not of his choice nobody saw coming.

Return to Miami Heat
