Amare Stoudemire thread (out for season? update pg 35)

Hey guys,

Someone on the Suns message board got an e-mail from a VERY reliable person who has a radio show in Phoenix and the person says Miami turned down a trade which would have brought Amare to Miami if they gave up Marion and Beasley.

Damn, can you imagine Amare and Wade together? SCARY!

Chalmers/Wade/Jones/Haslem/Amare is a contender.

If the rumor is true, Riley should have made that trade.

Amare isn't a center, I think the Suns' playoff performances with him at center proved that. We're looking for a legit center and I'd rather have Beasley long term. Not discounting Amare, but I don't blame Riley for rejecting that. That is a lot to give up to get no better defensively and a little better offensively.

Beasley will NEVER be as good as Amare. Amare is a superstar who Porter has turned into a role player.

- He was All-NBA First Team in 2006-2007

- He averaged 37 PPG against Duncan in the 2005 playoffs

- He averaged 29 PPG last year after the Shaq trade

Amare is a monster who is not being used properly by that idiot Terry Porter.

I like Beasley, but he's an even worse defender than Amare and won't be as good offensively.

Riley made a mistake to turn down that trade. Amare and Wade would be awesome playing on the same team.

Maybe Riley is confident he will add Boozer in the off-season....?

yes!!

Beasley has every chance of being as good as amare imo. Marion and Beasley for no "D" amare would have been rape.

Marion and a future first at best. I don't believe that Wade amare makes us any more contenders than we are at the moment.

I would gladly do Marion and Beasley for Bosh, but not for Amare. You know why? Because Amare has some attitude problems.

For example, Amare had issues with Marion, now that Marion is here though, you can see how much of a class act Marion is.

Another example is the way Amare is handling his dissatisfaction with playing under Terry Porter. Bosh for example has flat out denied that he is leaving in 2010 even though that is probably the case.

Also on a side note, Marion+Beasley for Stoudamire doesn't work out capwise. It would have to be Marion+Beasley for Stoudamire+Barnes+Hill.

Can you blame him for being unhappy under Porter? Pretty much the whole team is absolutely miserable under Porter and the way he's running the team. He's turned him into a role player.

- Goran Dragic complained that he's not getting enough playing time

- Matt Barnes complained last week that he's not getting enough playing time

- Raja Bell and Steve Nash voiced their frustration with Porter's offense (Just passing it to Shaq all the time)

- Amare has made it clear he's frustrated

Porter is arguably the worst coach in the NBA.

Yet another mistake by Kerr.

If this were the first time Amare has displayed attitude issues, I would say I couldn't blame him. But it's not.

And I ABSOLUTELY believe this rumor because the person who reported it is VERY reliable and another poster on the Suns board also reported that Riley called the Suns last night to ask about Amare.

Those two are very reliable. So I believe this rumor.

At least with Marion we are involved in every trade rumour this season.

Well, I not so interest in Amare, if the cost is Beasley. Bosh otherwise ,,, he is better in defense and grab more rebounds if we asked him to do this. But a true center that plays defense with amare, than we have it ,,, Camby, Chandler, Kamam ... heck ... even Jeff Foster. Can you imagine- Chalmers - Wade - JJ - Amare - Camby

It wouldn't shock me if the sticking point for Miami were Marion. Riley might want to do both the JO and Amare deals, sending out Blount and Beasley for Stat, and Marion and Banks for JO.

Pg: Chalmers / Quinn
Sg: Wade / Cook
Sf: Jones / Diawara / Wright
Pf: Amare / Haslem
Cc: O'Neal / Magloire / Anthony

or maybe Riley just wants to keep Marion for the rest of the year and see a lineup of:

Chalmers
Wade
Marion
Haslem
Stoudamire

Or maybe he's just not willing to deal Beasley. Who knows?

Although I'd rather keep beasley, I could accept amare if we also got JON. That would be a nice looking team. However amare wouldn't want to play second fiddle to Wade.

Would happily take on Amare if it meant we somehow got JON too. Otherwise I have no interest in Amare for Beasley. Too many questions in regards to Amare.

Chalmers
Wade
JJ
Beasley/Stoudamire (interchangeable I believe)
JON

Does me fine.

Either way, ship Marion out now for JON.

I'm going to agree with what most people are saying. You cannot trade Beasley for Amar'e, Riley.

Amare has a terrible attitude problem and puts in no effort on the defensive end. Its hard to tell if that is just because he is in Phoenix where defense has never been a priority or if a change of scenery would do him a world of good. Still I wouldnt do Beasley and Marion for Stoudemire. I wouldnt even trade Beasley straight up for him if it were possible

I like the threads until the other supporters get a little too carried away. Toronto fans are great and they should say whatever they want on their own forum but on ours they ought to restrict their comments to toronto and not tell miami fans about their own backyards. Trade threads in general are ridiculous places to be.

Probably will miss them after the deadline, well perhaps not, in fact definitely not until the slow off season.
