He's good at driving, finishing at the basket off drives and lobs, he's a quality 3 point shooter, he runs the floor, switchable defender, average rim protector, and he rebounds.

I agree with you that his lack of durability is a massive concern. His career high in games played is 62. Middleton has played more than that twice in the last 4 years

You know what? Either Dame or Khris has to go.

You gotta at least kick the tires on what those guys can get you, Dame should still fetch a decent return and now is the time to move Khris after his big playoff series if you're gonna do it. I just think its going to be very hard to find suitable replacements let alone upgrades for guys like Lopez & Bobby when they're the ones you're trading, you're not going to get younger/cheaper & better. Maybe different, maybe different fit, but we'd be shuffling deck chairs when our perimeter defense is so bad.

I want those folks to tell me the two legitimately gettable guys that you can put in the starting lineup with Giannis, Khris and Dame that would cover for Dame's poor defense, Khris' slowness on defense and Giannis' lapses on defense.

Looking at the playoffs and seeing these younger, lanky, switchable guys getting after it on defense tells me everything I need to know. *Dame or Khris needs to be moved.

*If you want Giannis to compete for another ring.

AJJ &Beauchamp breakthrough. That's the two.

Marjon lives near Dame, & goes to workout with him all offseason.

Giannis channels Big Sofo & moves to the 5.

Also, Adams is an all-time chemistry guy. If you're trading Brook, you have to get someone who's just as good attitude-wise as him. Adams does fit that mold, even if you have to squint for the basketball fit.

He also grabs every rebound in his area, which would be very different from Brook.

I think you can keep the big 3, but then we’re talking no Bobby isos, no Lopez post touches, no Lopez trailing 3’s and so on.

Brook fit with Bledsoe & Jrue, with Dame healthier maybe. But Adams for sure is gobbling up rebounds. I love Brook but someone has to get em if he's just boxing out.

Beasley can't play with Dame & hopefully he'd rather move on anyway. Does not play consistent defense when needed. Marques Johnson saw it too, his post series commentary included sharp criticism of Beas lack of d.

Trade proposals that have little chance of happening might bore me but I don’t see any reason to get angry about it. This is the time of year to strut your stuff. Go for it :)

We were able to do some better things defensively later on in the season with Pat Bev and Brook as the ‘other’ starters. Don’t think it’s too crazy to assume we can get an upgrade from Pat Bev and Brook Lopez if we’re looking for more athletic players to surround the big 3.

I’d love to use Brook Lopez in a deal to LA to get Rui and 17 off them. Then I’d turn around and see what Pat C, Beauchamp and 23 can get you for an active wing defender and I think we’re pretty solid overall. Draft Kel’el Ware at 17 and you still have Jackson Jr and AJ Green as wings that will compete for a starting spot next season.

Dame/?/Khris/Bobby/Giannis
?/Green/Jackson Jr/Rui/Ware

Fill in the blanks with the PatC/Beauchamp/23 trade and sign a vet min backup PG.

That’s the best I got right now lol

I'll reserve my anger for when Horst makes a dumb Khris trade. And he has success with his new team, while leaving a visible hole in the roster.

This is an excellent point. I don't know if we have the front office personnel to pull off the roster miracle that I think we need.

I agree that the number one goal has to be to get longer, younger, more athletic, more versatile on the wing.

I’d try to do it with secondary pieces, but wouldn’t scoff at Mids being involved

If the Knicks fail to make the Finals:

DDV & Randle for

Khris & Bobby.
