I was thinking of doing it, I've regretted ipo days before, though.

Here's an investment tip from former Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry.

AI? Semiconductors? Plastics?

Nope. Pickleball.

Billionaire investor Marc Lasry has shifted from the basketball court to the pickleball court — and sees it as a money-making move.

The co-founder of Avenue Capital Group told Bloomberg Television he believes his investments in pickleball and other upstart sports leagues could offer a higher return than those in NBA teams.

Just bought a good amount of shares. Also very excited for them.

I've been in a for a few years with 11 and change but didn't sell after the initial hype (Wallstreetbets had me greedy) and lowered my average a tad when they were in the 7's. I have a feeling this will be the one stock that has me wondering "what if" when they go on a tear and I'm sitting at a relatively measley 52 shares.

I have a very optimistic view of stocks thankfully. I don't get too caught up in the what if's. If i sell for a profit I'm usually pretty happy :D

This is also not my job or a real passion, but being in tech I do keep a pretty good eye on the industry and who's doing cool/transformative stuff.

Tell me more about this Palantir, the price point looks enticing.

Wallstreetbets hyped it like mad. But it did have a promising future. Price skyrocketed, then came crashing down in an insane fashion. Might be worth it now, but I tend to avoid anything that’s had a WSB run and dump.

Pickled ball? In this economy?

Who am I argue with a vulture who picked the carrion off an underfunded metropolis and left with a 6-fold increase in his investment less than 10 years later? I will say this though and with my chest fully engaged: BRING BACK SLAMBALL YOU COWARDS IF IT FAIL IF IT SUCCEEDS AT LEAST. YOU GOT. YOUR. DIG-NUH-TEEEEEEEEE.

Lasry was on CNBC this afternoon along with Bobby. He's mentoring Bobby on investing, Bobby is trying to educate other players. No discussion on Pickleball though.

It wouldn't shock me if it pulls back a tad but she's a strong one to buy and hold IMO. They've turned profitable when I believe the original projections weren't until 2025. I think my avg is 11.33 and if it dips below I'll probably be buying more as averaging up isn't a strong point of mine but I think 12.08 still will provide a good return.

I think a lot of these AI stocks are riding the NVIDIA wave as well. NVIDIA is just going to the moon right now. Palantir closed up another 7.76% today(just under 15usd). Have about 75 shares and considering buying more, but might just hold out where i'm at.

Right now I'm just banking on my CD (11mo/5%) and HYSA (cap one currently 4%) to pad my nest egg to give time to let the market get together. In a worst case scenario I need to pull my funds out of stocks in 3 years but parking your money in banks is the attractive option right now imo. I think we're still going to be on a rollercoaster for 1.5-2 years.

edit to add - unless you have some cajones, then getting stocks at a discount is probably attractive but that's not me. Stocks will always be my gambling money because lord knows whats coming.

If there's a possibility you have to cash in within 3 years then absolutely being conservative is the way to go. For longer time periods this has been a great time to buy. I always max out 401k and Roth. Index funds for the most part. The rest goes into a regular brokerage account. That's a mix mutual funds and some individual stocks. And cash. It's nice to finally get some return on cash. I have a small amount ~$9k presently in crypto for **** and giggles.
