Three final fours in my lifetime, beat Arizona in all three tournaments. Once in the round of 32 (2000), twice in the elite 8.

I know Wahl is a good player, especially on the defensive end. But man he plays dumb often. I remember the Tennesse game. Down 4-6, he attacks the rim to get fouled and missed most of his FTs instead of passing to anyone else.

The Tucker (persona non grata now lol) Badger team got crushed by Arizona though. That was brutal.

What compelled us to schedule a true road game against Arizona anyway?

This definitely feels like one of the weakest years in awhile for the Big Ten. Purdue is the only legit team it feels like

They have to show off how NIL money can buy you a program. Dont they?

Wisconsin can stop playing Gilmore and McGee. Arizona separated the game when Gilmore entered and they could play 5 on 4. McGee is a D-III player.
Essegian is a completely different player than last year. His confidence is shot.

No question B10 is weak this year, maybe the weakest I can remember in some time. Illinois looks like they might be a clear-cut #2 behind Purdue from what I've seen in the 2 games of theirs that I've watched.

Gilmore for sure , McGhee in limited minutes is fine. Not quite understanding Gilmore ! How he is getting valuable minutes on a team in the big ten ? Arizona didn't even guard him when he was on the floor , completely sagged off ! I get it that he knows the system , but when you get down by 15 or so , you just can't have him in , not there was much of a chance to come back , not when you are playing 4 on 5 on offense! We'll be fine , just finished a tuff stretch and did way better than we (I ) thought we would do!

I think Wisconsin would argue with that.

For sure. At the least I shouldn't say clear-cut #2; a little too-soon off the heels of our big Arizona loss, I guess.

If Essegian is pulled for bad defense ( I agree ) then Gilmore should be pulled for not taking wide open shots , the team is so handicapped on the offensive end when he is on the court . Really don't think his defense off sets his offensive liabilities.

I've watched too much Shoresy. In my head I was yelling SHOOT THE PUCK when Badgers were passing up open jumpers last week.

I don't tend to think Gard pulls guys super quickly. He's WAY more lenient than Bo ever was, even with Bo's favorite guys. If Essegian isn't playing, he really is struggling and doesn't deserve it with our improved roster where he would play (Storr, Blackwell).
I clamored for more Essegian last season because he was an offensive spark. You took lax defense because we needed his ability to hit a couple threes a night, or go off for several more. This year, not only is it less needed, but he's shooting like ass.
I'd be pretty shocked if he doesn't transfer.

Blackwell is much better at literally every facet of the game. Klesmax is a steady contributor on both ends. Essegian has exactly zero positional versatility to play up or down.
It is what it is. If he’s not shooting 40+% from three, he’s unplayable. Even then, there may be better options for those minutes.
