I’m guessing Griff and Doc won’t be exchanging Christmas cards this year.

I'm not worried if we lose a bunch more games right now. Doc is saying the right things. I think we'll get there.

After the Portland game I was a little worried but not panacing like I seen on here. This article eases that a little bit. They're just adjusting, which is natural.
We want to see them succeed now. Over halfway through the season, which we've been dragging through.
So does Doc. But its going to take time.

As I said before. I don't think this is the year. Too much turnover and turmoil. Dame needs time to adapt. Roster was setup for Jrue not Dame. Bench is a disaster. Young guys need more development.
The main thing is that the front office needs to convince Dame not to ask to be traded in the off-season if they don't get very far in the playoffs. Then Doc will have the whole off-season to implement his schemes and the front office can try to get players that work with Dame and Giannis.

Too late.
I didn't read it as that condemnatory of Griffin, but it does tell us we're starting over, which is far from ideal at this point in the season, and which we already kind of knew.
In hindsight, the Griffin defensive scheme may have been too complex, too energy-sapping, or too unpopular for veterans accustomed to expending their limited energy on the other end of the court. What we'll never know is whether it would have been accepted and assimilated by mid-April, and if so, whether it would have been effective.
I do think it's encouraging that Doc is letting the players figure things out for themselves. As the Tao says...
When the Master governs, the people
are hardly aware that he exists.
Next best is a leader who is loved.
Next, one who is feared.
The worst is one who is despised.
If you don't trust the people,
you make them untrustworthy.
The Master doesn't talk, he acts.
When his work is done,
the people say, "Amazing: we did it, all by ourselves!"

Doc, I implore you to, if the game is tight at the end, let Dame close. Our other 3 stars are really good but they are flawed offensively in ways that get exploited at the end when the pressure comes. Let Dame close. If Dame passes to you and you're wide open than shoot but if not get it back to him. Don't let anyone else dribble up the floor, if at all possible. With less than 10 seconds left, don't inbound to Giannis.. I know his legend proceeds him and he had a 50 piece in a finals game but that doesn't mean he can alleyoop to himself on a free throw attempt -- that's not a real play. Let Dame close, he has no flaw offensively. He's the most complete offensive player that EVER put on a Bucks jersey. He can do everything.. dribble (KM), pass, shoot, free throws (GA), come off screens, etc, etc.. also he doesn't feel human emotions like nerves (BL) when he shoots even if there's a few seconds left -- he gets even better like he lives for those seconds -- give him the ball...
just set screens and keep giving him the ball when the clock is under 5 min. Doc.... please and thank you.

If things go south this year, noone will blame Doc. This is good. Doc knows it and he seems relaxed and confident. We need him to be like that.Say what you want about his games 7, but he is undeniably a smart guy. A smart guy who feels no anxiety is a good combination.
If things go south this year, it's on players. And this is good, too. Ag firing basically is holding everyone accountable, especially the core. No ridiculous excuses from now on. You say you want the championship, then do what it takes to get it. Otherwise, stfu and ask for a trade to a team with no championship ambitions because lights are too bright for you.

Let Thanasis have at least a few possessions defending Luka.

That article made it seem like a bunch of professional basketball players, the leaders of which have extensive post-season experience, forgot how to play basketball. AG was bad but you're telling me you forgot how to fill the lanes or communicate on defense?
Yeah, I'm not buying it. What I will buy is the players didn't like the coach and played well when they felt like it. The record would be a lot worse otherwise and even better if they had cared more.

Is Robin Lopez also out for personal reasons?

I know Brook's wife is pregnant. Purely speculation but maybe something related to that?

Logical guess. If that's the case he's likely out tomorrow night too.

Immediately thought the same. Hope this isn't the case as that would be awful.MickeyDavis wrote:Turk Nowitzki wrote:I know Brook's wife is pregnant. Purely speculation but maybe something related to that?

Awful? Being with your wife and newborn (if that's the case here) is way more important than missing a game or two.
