Long, long time reader going back to the 00-01 season. First time posting. Excited to contribute.

Apologies if someone proposed something similar in the other trade thread, but why are we not calling OKC to see what we could get for Brook/Pat or Brook/Bobby?

Splash is exactly what they need to make a serious push in the west and Presti has the assets to get it done. Makes too much sense to me which means I’m stupid and missing something obvious lol

I think it boils down to our own unwillingness to deal Brook. I’d be honestly shocked if Horst has had any real conversations regarding moving him. It’s been reported already that Horst isn’t willing to touch any of the core 4 to make any roster adjustments. Pat C, Cam Payne and the Portland 2nd seem like the package we’re trying to move for a roster upgrade of some sort. Now this Bobby/Grant Williams swap rumor which I’m not sure has any real legs although Horst did try to trade DDV to Boston for Grant and Boston said no so maybe there’s actual interest. Circling the wagon, who knows? Welcome to the board!

I think the only thing he is remotely cable of is slowing down Giannis and since we have Giannis that doesn't seem an important skill. He has been terribad in Dal and his positive splits in Bos seem to be because other teams (like us) decide to just leave him wide open to support on Jays, etc.

Pretty much, Giannis is a pretty unique cover and scrubs like Grant Williams or Semi Ojeleye have been effective against him.

I hope everyone realizes Portis for Williams is only about the salary slot. We'd be getting draft compensation.

I'm sure we'd be looking to reroute Williams, likely to the GM that drafted him, Danny Ainge.

Welcome! Congrats on getting an inaugural post in after 20 years of lurking.

Agreed OKC is an interesting trade partner since they need bigs and have picks to burn.

Good point that Horst reportedly insisted on Grant for DDV as part of what would have been a deal for Schroder. He is a guy we’ve been looking at a while now.

Doc needs to convince Giannis to defer to Dame offensively and expend those energy savings defensively.

Have you seen Dame shoot this year? Are we sure we want him handling more of the offense

So if Embiid is out for the year and the biggest reason to keep Brook has always been Embiid, do we now have an opportunity to trade Brook before hes completely washed?

Then again, he is due 23M in expiring money next season that could be utilized in whatever deal we end up doing with our first(s) this offseason

Wish list on a Brook Trade

Wiggins or even Draymond

Brogdon

Smart

Jordan Poole (I have Tim Hardaway Jr vibes from him, high risk-high reward, potentially a 10 year cost controlled starting Shooting Guard) You all told me I was dumb for wanting THJ, but fast forward to now, he has been solid for like 7 years straight.

Stop caring about regular season stats. You know who gets exposed against good teams in 7 game series? Bobby. You know who doesn't? Grant Williams. There are other guys I might prefer to use Bobby in a trade for but if that's all that is available Thursday night I'd gladly do it.

Literally every trade we consider should ask 2 questions:

Can they move their feet on defense?

Do they have a quick confident 3p release?

Horst needs to pull the trigger on a core piece, can't go into the playoffs and into next year with this same team and expect to win. This team is a longshot contender but any team with Giannis on it would be, there's no real risk involved.

Stein on his pod says Bucks would not do Bobby for Grant without Dallas including more.

Also notes the Bucks won't trade any of their core 4. Also continues to say the Bucks will do something

The Heat exposed Grant Williams in the post season and basically forced Boston to bench him because they were taking turns torching him on defense and got into his head.

Boston & Dallas are both teams that should have a use for Grant Williams but they couldn't dump him fast enough, guy is a low IQ scrub who thinks better of himself now locked up long term. Seriously **** no, Jae is literally a better player. Does not move the needle when you're not playing a guy who will Bad Porn his way to the basket 50 times a game and the defensive gameplan is literally to leave you wide open in the corner, this would be a true Bucks special of picking up the scrub who burned them previously.

This trade deadline feels like our last chance to make a splash before the second apron rules cripple our flexibility. If Dejounte Murray is the best two way type guy that we can get for our assets then I am in but with as bad as Middleton has looked physically/defensively it feels like we need to add two guys. Like Murray AND Deni Avidja or something. Two two way players. I’d flip Grant Williams in a heartbeat for something more useful. Kick the tires on flipping Murray too. It sounds like we are exploring everything from the rumors so I am cautiously optimistic we make another big splash

Fischer on his pod saying if theirs a perimeter defender that makes Pats salary we are calling on them. Bring ups Wright as a name he's heard.
