Hopefully we end up with Purdue/UConn or the title game might be another snoozefest.

I watched the game last night and now looked at his season stats split by when he actually plays good competition. He's just a freshman so he could improve, but...

Verdict: Not a huge miss

You do realize that Momcilovic of this season would be the best and most productive freshman big within the last 20 years of the UW program aside from Ethan Happ and it's not even particularly close right?

I think the hand wringing is that Momcilovic is seemingly the exact UW archetype of big man that both Bo and Gard like to recruit, white, good shooter, fundamentally sound, projects to stay multiple years, big time winner in HS, plus his HS coach played for UW, and of course he's a local kid...and yet somehow UW doesn't even offer him but they'll offer some random white stiffs from Minnesota who take 2-3 years to get near the current production of Momcilovic.

Dekker
Koenig
Hayes
Gasser

Beats all four of them easily???

I said "freshman big".

However, it definitely isn't particularly close with Gasser or Koenig as freshman anyway. Dekker is obviously a different case and had a better frosh year for sure. Hayes it's a lot closer and arguable both ways I guess.

In the portal era I just don’t think it’s a huge deal. He’s a decent shooter that can’t get open shots against good teams. They can find somebody else that can do that.

I guess I was saying all year I was going off of the lore and his stats that it was a big miss. Then I watched him play and the stats back up that [at least right now] he is nothing special against non-bottom feeder teams. I could be wrong - also - he may improve his quickness and become a better player and end up not at Iowa State when that happens.

Yeah, the kid started 37 games on a good team as a true freshman and played reasonably well. He would’ve played like 24 minutes for us this year and would start every game next year.

To say he wasn’t a miss is an odd take. Gus Yalden? Sure. Huge miss. He contributed zero, zip. Zilch to our program.

Yuck, I think UConn would have a 30 point lead by halftime

Weird to say in a single elimination tournament, but I would have been (and still would be) surprised to see UConn lose or even for anybody to give them much of a game. Wild how Illinois quit partway through that run and UConn was getting 3 on 1s.

Hawkins is on my do not draft list.

They gotta set a time limit on reviews. What the "gotta get it right" crowd has to acknowledge with college reviews (basketball and football), is that they take away from the stamina/fitness parts of the sports.

The problem with Zach edie (sp?) is he simply is excessively tall. He'll pay for that superfluous height at some point.imo

Enfield leaving USC for SMU is really weird to me. SMU must be absolutely flooding money into their athletics program.

I feel like this is what SMU is best known for. Good for them that it's within the rules now.
