Speaking of the Netflix bump, everyone go and give Warrior a nice "like". According to the caption they need it by March 1st?

I guess I don't understand what people expected lol. They weren't exactly adapting Oscar-worthy source material here, and at least got a good cast. Maybe it'll be better than expected like Jumanji or that last D&D movie?

They could have gone the Tails from the Borderlands route. That had nice source material. Or adopted a storyline that had to do with Jack. He was a pretty excellent villain.

Instead their first trailer was a bunch of piss and poop jokes.

Well yeah, no argument there. Hard to gauge movies based on the trailer these days though, just like the latter two examples in my post. Those trailers made the movies look **** awful, but they ended up surprisingly decent.

It's hard to articulate why the games were great but they were awesome. Pretty much impossible task to adapt that into a movie.

re video game adaptations

I think it's incredibly difficult to please the gamers and the people who haven't played the game.

They were fun to play, had a quirky sense of humor, and you got that lil dopamine bump every time you got a new item, which was like every 5-6 seconds.

Video game movies are never great, the trailer looks like what I'd expect and I love those games.

Werewolves Within was excellent, would recommend. Have not played the game.

FYI, doing the rewatch of Warrior and the video quality looks significantly better than it did on Max. Watching on the Basic plan too. Could just be anecdotal.

While you wait for borderlands to come out go ahead and watch Buckaroo Banzai

Also just noticed that Kentucky Fried Movie is free on Prime. Classic first film from milwaukees own directors of Airplane!

I still have to watch the final season. I figured it was going to be cancelled but still a bummer that it was; the first two seasons were incredibly fun.

I am not an Avatar person so I will not be watching, but I saw one review going viral that was hilarious. Said something along the lines of "This show helped me appreciate the live action movie a little more because that was at least only two hours long."

I've never really fully understood the love for Avatar that so many people have, but I think this new obsession of trying to adapt anime to live action is an impossible and pointless task. It's probably the most untranslatable medium there is, and even the best source material (Cowboy Bebop, Death Note) ends up looking like absolute crap.

I watched the first episode and last airbender live action stays very true to the cartoon. It wasn’t awful but it also wasn’t great. Shrugs. I’ll watch the whole thing because i enjoyed watching the cartoon with my kids
