RIP Lou Gossett Jr.

Diggstown isn't what I would call a masterpiece but it is a classic. Diggstown walked, so that Roadhouse could fly. Jim Woods in a very Jim Woodsian role. LGR in one of the GOAT I'm Too Old For This Sht appearances.

So **** psyched. Just the fact that this exists is one of the greatest stories in cinema history. It could be terrible and it'd still be a triumph.

Man, you have no idea the real estate Iron Eagle has in my brain. Whenever I explain to people why I have to listen to music while I work...

Jingoism be damned, but Iron Eagle and Red Dawn had the enlightened aspect of accomplished old dudes gracefully bowing to youthful leadership. Inspiring!

After wasting $2 on several games of Out Run (I'd go off-road just to feel the steering wheel shake), I invested another $2 to see each of those in the theater. The best of times.

Yeah, those are great popcorn big-screen experiences! Sure, Red Dawn is all kinds of problematic but Ron O'Neal! Swayze! Harry Dean and Chuck Sheen! Lea Thompson! Jen Grey! The god Powers Boothe!

And brother, $2 spent on Out Run is not $2 wasted. You did good, HGM.

Speaking of Red Scare movies in the 80s, I was on one a few weeks ago and played some Rocky 4 soundtrack on Youtube. Now Robert Tepper and Survivor have invaded my algorithm and every playlist inevitably have these two songs.

I love Iron Eagle! It’s one of the first movies I ever remember watching, such a killer soundtrack too!

Yup through the 80s and half the 90s, we’d all scream “never say die..iron eagle…” before we’d go do something reckless or stupid…
I still say it to this day on occasion and people have no clue… have to use Leeroy Jenkins instead…

That kid was in JCVDs first movie too, No Suurender No Retreat….

Shogun is going to be tough to top in 2024. Every element is on point. Couldn't recommend more highly. The Game of Thrones comps don't do it justice, although there are a lot of them to be made.

Hiroyuki Sanada with an oscar worthy performance. Anna Sawai has been fantastic, and most of the supporting roles too. I can’t decide if I like Cosmo, not sure if its his acting or the director wanting to make his character less likable. It started slow but the acting carried it, like how much fun was Néstor Carbonell? Canon scenes were just amazing, looking forward to war.

Just finished The Brothers Sun on netflix and really liked it. Well written and acted, did a good job developing the characters. Was a fun watch

There was a girl in our school. She had premarital sex.

You know what she did on graduation day?

Died! Overdose!

I was gonna watch this show regardless, but now I'm really curious about this late season bait and switch. Might wait for the show to be over before I begin.
