Game 23: Bulls at Bucks - 12/11/23 - 7:00 - BSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Dec 10, 2023 9:25 pm

Third time we've played them already this season. 2 weeks ago was the OT abomination against the shorthanded Bulls.

Bucks are well rested.

Bucks favored by 11, seems excessive.

Game goes head to head with the Packers. Great scheduling.

Go Bucks
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hopefully Dame remembers to play in the second half this time.

Bulls have their stars back (not sure if that makes them better ot not). Caruso the Deer Hunter playing.

Smart coaches have figured out how to play against us.

I am not confident in our ability to win games that we expect to win.

Initial injury report has Caruso as questionable. LaVine is out. Bucks haven't submitted theirs yet.

Hopefully they let him touch the ball in the 3rd quarter.

Bucks initial injury report Pat and Jae out, no surprise.

Tickets incredibly cheap for Giannis nesting doll night. Like I would post mine here but not even worth the effort.

When the crowd sucks, someone is going to give the excuse about the packers game.

Must win, beat those whores.

It's actually pretty wild they scheduled a home game the same night as a Packer game. That seems like such an easy equation to get a lackluster crowd

I doubt they have a ton of choice. I bet they can give input early (avoid Sundays prior to January) but I would think they have most of the schedule laid out by the time the NFL schedule is publicly announced?

Yup. Packers schedule came out 3 months before Bucks. It would have been easy enough to avoid. At least start it at 6:00. I'll have both on but it sucks to have to watch both at the same time. I know I could record one to watch after the other one but I watch Packers and Bucks live.

As MD said the NFL schedule came out 3 months before the NBA schedule did. Plenty of time to adjust

I could be wrong but I got to think changing the schedule to react to a Packer game would be an incredibly low priority for the NBA. They had to lock in Vegas first so no Sunday games. I think there are 13 games tomorrow. Removing the bucks and inserting someone else is going to have a cascading effect. (bulls play Tuesday night so just can't bump it a day). I could imagine being the NBA scheduling computer engineer trying to fix the algorithm and then throwing his laptop because the Bucks (contender for the nba championship) can't play on the same night as a projected 7.5 win football team that doesn't even play in the same city.

Like they could have moved it up to six, but not sure that solved much. If people aren't going to the game because of the packers, they arent going at 6.

They had 3 months to adjust, that is a ton of time. At minimum just flip this to a road game in Chicago and send Chicago here on one of their scheduled home games.

an easy defensive mistake/miscue,
that needs to be corrected.
when and/or if, a switch needs to happen on a high PnR.
some of the guards are calling for the switch, before contact from the screener is even happening.
thats a BIG NO.
theres no concept of disrupting the direction.
or trying to avoid the screen.
or tightening up the defense to force the screener to have to adjust or move.
our guards (and wings) can barely guard their asigned guy,
its going to be worse if they switch onto a big.

id prefer, with non Brook lineups, that the guard fights around the screen and the big involved step high to force the ball hander high and around. and wait for our guard to regain defensive position.

imo, this is the best approach for a poor perimeter defense.

Resold my tickets 2 weeks ago to get ahead of the price drop. Bulls fans must have finally given up on their team. Also genius idea to schedule this at 7 and not 6 against the Packers. **** genius.

It's annoying to us as fans but acting like the NBA should be adjusting schedules over other league games is a reach, it's not like this won't happen to other markets throughout the year.
