Game 26: Rockets at Bucks - 12/17/23 - 6:00 - BSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:38 am

Rockets have won 5 straight but only 2-8 on the road. Bucks on a B2B.

Lisa will be back for this one but give me more Dave Koehn on TV in the future please.

Go Bucks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Oh yeah, that Dave guy was so pleasantly competent. Surely he can at least replace Novak forever?

Oh wait, Novak is the "colour" guy right? Do it anyway.

Props to Ime Udoka and Dillon Brooks (cannot believe I'm saying this) and FVV for helping to change that team's culture completely. They played gutter trash loser basketball the past several seasons under Stephen Silas and letting Jalen Green/KPJ run the show but they're legit tough now, good blend of vets + talented young guys under one of the elite coaches.

Dame needs 45 to reach 20k. Would be pretty cool if he had a huge night to get it in a W here. Otherwise I feel he will be over shadowed by victor being in town

Eta- Giannis non-chalantly broke the 17k threshold. By end of next year he should be around 20k. 20k is at that the point where pretty much everyone is a hall of famer.

Giannis would have to commit some kind of horrific crime to not be a hall of famer right now. Dame too actually. Both 7 time all NBA. That's I assume to be first ballot every time territory.

This is going to be a tough one. Houston are proving how underrated and underpaid the best coaches are. (lol Monty)

Glad to see some Dave love here. He's a good radio guy and as a plus sometimes drops the weirdest stuff. In the Pacers game he said something about how Giannis was going through the Pacers' defense like sandpaper where there should be a concrete wall -- totally naturally, as if that's a thing people say and would understand. Love an announcer with a hard breaking ball.

My point, if I ever had one, was that Giannis longevity stars are already in HOF territory at 29. He was already cemented in with the finals MVP, but I still like chart watching.

Least efficient players in the NBA averaging at least 15ppg: Jordan Clarkson (49.8% TS), Nikola Vucevic (50.9%), Cade Cunningham (51.3%), Caris Levert (52.0%), Victor Wembanyama (52.1%), Jordan Poole (52.3%), Malcolm Brogdon (52.5%), Fred Vanvleet (52.9%), Jalen Green (53.2%), Cam Thomas (53.3%)

Watch him score 30 points on 13 shots tonight.

I never listen to the radio broadcast but I thought he was great on TV. The Brewers moved one of their radio guys to TV, Bucks need to do the same. I always figured Lisa took this job as a stepping stone to an ESPN or other national gig so hopefully her contract is for 3 years and she moves on after this season. Dave seemed to have pretty good chemistry right off the bat with Marques.

Rockets are good, would be one of our best wins this season if we get this one tonight. I love blowing out the bad teams but I’m at the point where I only care how this team looks against competitive teams.

Lisa has gotten better and Marcus seems to like her, but yesterday's broadcast was a pleasure to watch.

Houston is second in the league in defense. Not very good offensively.

Let's see if Bucks defense can hold Houston under 111 (Houston's average) and whether Bucks offense can score more than 107 (Houston's defensive average). Good test.

It's hard to believe (1) we're in Year Three of Lisa, and (2) that we're still holding out hope that she will improve. Dave the radio guy sounded like a real home announcer with real basketball understanding and a real investment in the outcome.

Eventually Lisa will be relegated to the Gus Johnson memorial pile of failed experiments, and for me the sooner the better.
