PG San Antonio: Dame Time boats races Spurs

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:18 am

Some sloppy play, but the outcome was never in doubt.

Win #20 in the Bucks. Two games behind Boston in the loss column.

If you wanted the perfect example of a nondescript basketball game this was it. The Spurs are ice cold to start, Bucks go up 21-3 and then the game is basically Bucks up between 12-20 the rest of the way. It was almost like Griff and Pop made a gentleman's agreement at the 6 minute mark that the Bucks wouldn't try to really run up the score and in return the Spurs wouldn't try to make it truly competitive.

Should Ajax be in the 3 point contest?

There were times where that was more of a game than it should've been. Basically made enough shots where that wasn't the case but defensively we didn't do a lot to be happy about. Still way way off thinking we're going to be ok on that end.

AJax is going to be so valuable.

Hitting 3s, great defense, rebound, hustling, court vision. Dude just makes the right plays and has a high basketball IQ. I am honestly shocked the Heat didn't trade into the 2nd round for him.

The only player that makes the spurs matter right now was out.

Bucks didn't care to exert themselves. It's a win.

I'm trying to be extremely cautious about my excitement for Andre's 3 ball. I see it go in in games. It looks pretty good in warmups. But the fact that we got him for practically nothing (and his form), is holding me back. It would just be way too good to be true. Then again, we were due to find a diamond. Philly got Maxey. Lakers got Reaves. Miami gets whatever they need somehow. I've been bitter about not getting our own version of that, but i think we might have.

I think at this stage I'm almost more concerned about his ability to get a bucket right next to the hoop (when it's not an obvious dunk situation) than i am about his 3 ball. He definitely needs some work down there.

I don't think he's going to be hitting threes with consistency any time soon. Eye test says he's gotten VERY VERY lucky thus far. Those percentages are going to drop off a cliff.

Even if/when his jumper does come back to earth, he's doing enough out there to earn his minutes

I don't think he's earned anything, the play/production hasn't been there, but if that were to be rephrased based on skill set and youth, I'd agree he warrants more minutes. He flashes quite a bit.

Great time to be a Bucks fan if an easy, never in doubt win isn't good enough
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Still pretty much the same. We have an absolute garbage defense that's not going to get us anywhere in the postseason. It's comical that these bad teams can run up such high scores against us.

That was a very long training run.

I still wonder when he's going to implement the defense.

He's still awful. We're winning in spite of him.
