PG Indy - Pathetic

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Jan 4, 2024 2:45 am

It's simplistic to always talk about "making adjustments" but when you face the same team 5 times in 34 games and play the exact same schemes each game YOU NEED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS.

But it's certainly not just coaching. Not by a long shot. The players were lethargic and lazy. Complaining to the refs. You can't chalk it up to "we're an old team". Lack of hustle isn't an age thing, it's just lazy.

Yeah it's a long season. Six months/82 games is dumb. Every team has slumps. If you play hard and lose, so be it. Suck it up. I'd love to work 82 days a year for that money.

There is no easy fix. Finding the mythical "defensive stopper" isn't easy nor a magical potion.

We're a good team, we are contenders. So act like it.

I'm among the more optimistic here. I don't let losses bother me. But my patience is about gone.

On to San Antonio.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bucks players need to stop deferring to the Packers players.

This team has a big problem.

I don't know what the solution is. And we have road apples for assets.

Just an absolutely embarrassing performance by the Bucks defense tonight. And honestly it's been embarrassing, they got some shooting luck their last few games but it's been real bad lately.

24-10 and haven’t even begun to play our best basketball baby! And if you take out our last 8 losses we’re on a 22 game win streak. Checkmate, Bud stans.

It's almost impossible to believe a coach wants every defender to pressure offensive players as high up as possible. But everyone is doing it so it's clearly a directive.

They're even doing it off ball exposing backdoor cuts. They're doing it to freaking YJ McConnell, a horrible 3 point shooter, 5 feet beyond the arc. The Bucks are full of older, unathletic players and going all in on a losing strategy exposing their D.

Effort is going to continue to sink and it will be because they're set up to fail.

this team is old, disorganized, soft, lazy

it is a pity we build a good record on top of an easy schedule, otherwise we may have got rid of Grief already

What’s amazing is we’ve played five games against these guys in a short time. That’s like a playoff series. One coach made adjustments and ran rings around the other guy.

"Miami churns out a good D every year with half their team being bad individual defenders."

"Any old bad defenders? Come on…you can’t just roll out a bunch of **** defenders and coach them up to play good defense."

----Sure, can't just snap your fingers. But Mia has Bam who's good at D, Butler who is when he plays. Then a rotating door over the years after that which includes Robinson, Herro, Love, Lowry, Dragic, etc. Of course a regression was going to happen from Jrue to Dame, and that they added Beasley before knowing Dame was coming. but this is pathetic. The same basic Bud scheme would be much better than this.

On to San Antonio.

Have you ever been in a position where leadership is aggressively setting you up to fail? Not only can disorganization lead players to looking like they're not giving effort when instead it's confusion, but it's MUCH harder to go all out when you have no confidence in the process. Really feels like that's what's happening.
