Game 41: Bucks at Cavs - 1/17/24 - 6:30 - ESPN/BSWI - Giannis Out

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:48 pm

We've reached the halfway point. A win puts us at 29-12. Last year 27-14. The year before 26-15. Championship year 72 games were played, at the halfway point we were 22-14.

Crowder is back, limited minutes obviously. The initial injury report will be out later this afternoon. As far as I know everyone should be good to go.

Cavs have won 5 straight.

This begins the odd schedule of:

At Cavs
At Detroit
At Detroit
Cavs
Cavs

GO BUCKS.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I hate the schedule this season. We play the Cavs 3 times in the next 5 games. It makes no sense.

We've only played the Pistons, Cavs, Pacers & Knicks this season.

I just said in the other thread. How are we playing 4 games in 5 days, then 2 games in one week?

Cavs, Pistons, Pistons, Cavs, Cavs in 5 straight games is seriously some of the dumbest scheduling I have ever seen.

They are trying to cut down on travel but I don't like.

Bucks have a clean injury report. Everyone available.

Call me old fashioned, but make divisions relevant again:
5 Against 4 Division Teams
3 against 10 Conference Teams
2 against west
2 IST

It brings back some rivalries and reduces travel.

I quite like the two games in a row against the one East team thing but it's silly when a third game is in proximity too.

I’m quite excited for Jae’s return, he was playing so well prior to the injury. Hopefully he can ramp up and return to form.

Hopeful with Crowder's return we will have a more viable option to go small. Don't expect him to hit 50% from three much longer. Pretty eh on his return tbh.

Incredible indeed. After first 45 games it will be:
Pacers 5 times
Knicks 4 times
Cavs 4 times
Pistons 4 times
Bulls 3 times

That is 20 games against 5 teams.

But 0 games against 8 teams:
Minnesota, Oklahoma, Denver, Clippers (4 best teams at West), Pelicans, Phoenix, Lakers, Memphis

For those who live and die over coaches' decisions and outcomes of regular season games, it should be noted that there are some who see them in a different light.

"I just want to play games," Antetokounmpo said, per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I just played a lot of games. What is this Game 40? I've only missed one game, which I'm very proud of. I just want to be available for my team because I had an offseason where I wasn't really playing basketball, I wasn't able to participate with the (Greek) national team or practice, so basically this is my practice.

We're sweating the losses and wins
Apoplectic at Griff's mortal sins
And then we hear Giannis
Say no, the joke's on us
To him it's like just shirts and skins

If Crowder can be decent from 3, provide adequate defense for the Giannis-at-C lineups, that would be just fine.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS
