Can't imagine what Horst was thinking in liking griffin. It reflects poorly on his judgement.

But I feel better with The Doc hire now that Joerger is there.

I never understood why Joerger wasn't an option when Bud was fired. He's a pretty bland guy, so maybe that's why he's been ignored since his other head coaching stops.

He called all 4 out pretty aggressively and let them vent as well, and this went on for a few hours.

This bit jumps out to me. This is clearly coming from Dame and/or Giannis, and I think it's serving to highlight a few things.
Communication and trust started to go sideways early, Griffin treated the stars noticeably different than the other guys, and he really didn't seem to have a good feel for the roster. I mean, Giannis is arguably the greatest transition player in history. Dame's one of the greatest offensive engines in history, and his usage is down significantly. We're past red flags on some of this.

Almost like Adrian was trying to get himself fired. Maybe that's what he was about all along - get paid to not do anything.

I made it through the Stein/Haynes pod as well. Prez hits the highlights.

I guess what strikes me the hardest is how surprised they were Griff got canned. I get it, only so many hours in a day, but it betrays how little each watched the Bucks.

Hell, just a month ago we all thought that Rockets win was a quality victory. Now, they've lost 5 of their last 6 and looks like they're regressing to the lottery team that everyone thought they'd be this season.

They've had 5-6 rotation guys out for a few weeks now. That was a good win

Probably wanted Nurse, bigly.

Asked Giannis, so Giannis talked to Sikiam who said Nurse is an ****.

Giannis asked to meet both and Nurse wanted to talk bball while Griff was playing with Giannis kids and he bought in.

Horst says we will make it happen if Giannis will extend.

Owners say if he extends we will suck it up but if it is a disaster, it will be a short leash and we will go with a vet coach.

My best guess.

However overall misguided, you have to give Giannis some props for holding such a grudge vs Nurse due to that blown ECF to him. Don't see that these days in the NBA anymore, Jordan level of spite/pettiness.

Joerger is considered an SOB in many quarters. Rich Man’s Nick Nurse. But for this role in Milwaukee? Perfect.

I think they were surprised because they didn't think that the owners would pay three coaches. They must not know Haslam's track record.

He can be the a-hole and Doc can shake hands and kiss Thanasis.

Thanks. That explains half of the equation. It doesn't explain why Horst thought Griffin was worthy of being in the final three. There's probably no good answer.

I think the hope was that AG would be Nurse-lite and someone Giannis was good with. The FO hopes you get Nurse style coaching and Giannis gets someone who is not Nurse.
Obviously the FO wasn't completely sold since they attached Stotts to the deal.

we already did? Griff curse'd out Stotts a bunch for not listening to him and it was probably because griff had the feeling stotts was there to take his job (he was right)
